Indie Game Fez Is Hitting PS3, PS Vita, and PS4 Later This Month. PS4 Version Will Run At 60fps/1080p

On March 25th (US) and March 26th (EU) Fez, an indie game that hit it off huge on Steam, will be coming to PlayStation devices. The game was ported by Blit Works (Spelunky and Sonic CD) with help from Polytron (the original developer), and Sony’s dev team, so you can expect a great game. As stated in the title, the Fez will run at 60 fps and 1080p resolution on the PS4.
On the PS3 you can expect a healthy 720p resolution at the same 60fps. The PS Vita version “runs smoothly at native resolution” said Polytron producer Marie-Christine Bourdua. Here is what Bourdua said about the PS4 resolution:
You wouldn’t think that upping the resolution would make a big difference in a game like ours, where the pixels are the size of Gomez’s fist, but it really does look even crisper and blockier– in a good way
There will not be much changes from the PC and Xbox 360 to the PlayStation versions of Fez, but there is something special about the PS4 version. The DS4’s lightbar will help you unlock a 3D mode via an easter egg late in the game, that will work on 3DTVs.

Currently, the price is not known for the game, but you can expect somewhere around $10 as that is the price that the PC and Xbox versions of Fez are available for. One great plus, Fez is cross-buy and cross-save! If you buy the game once, you can play it on all three consoles. In my opinion, a great game you can play on three consoles for $10, that’s a great deal!
Here is the trailer for the game:
Let me know in the comments if you are planning on getting this game. I probably will, as it like like a fun time. You can also contact/follow me on Twitter @The_Jay_Doctor. That’s all for now from me, The Jay Doctor.

So if I buy it on steam now, will I get to use it on all my devices late march? To be honestly that’s awesome though I don’t really care about the portability but it’s always nice to have that option. What I mean is that with the advent of the Steam machines, I’ve been amassing a good sized collection on steam. They’ve been having some good sales and there’s always humble bundle
“So if I buy it on steam now, will I get to use it on all my devices late march?”
No, but if you buy it on PSN when it’s released, you can play it on PS3, PS4, or Vita. Steam isn’t connected to PSN at all, outside of Portal 2 and (maybe) Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
Also, inb4 Phil Fish hate.
does anyone else see ds4 in the post
yeah, it’s the PS4 controller, “DualShock 4”
hopefully sony doesn’t release a new firmware before this comes out really want this on my vita.
Why not 1440p for PS4 (I know that 1440p is support only for picture)
I mean it’s 2D platformer
It’s should be able to go to 1440p with PS4 hardware
not common resolution nor necessary
Probably because 1920×1080 displays are as common as water these days.
Nice. This title could propably help to push the popularity of the vita.
Since it is already available for PC and will be available for other consoles, I doubt that it will help push the VITA sales. Now if they ported this game only for the VITA, then it probably would push the sales.
That’s true. I wouldn’t buy a vita just to play FEZ as well. But like Sony already mentioned I’m sure it will be a big year for vita owners, not least because of the release of Borderlands 2 for vita and the nice cross-playing-features. So I still hope in a big growth in our community.
