  5. alpmaster says:

i still play metal gear on NES

    • Acid_Snake says:

the NES version is far inferior and even Kojima himself dislikes it.

      • Guardian says:

What you say is true, by please have in mind there are people who could not access any other version of the game, either for lacking of knowledge or resources. I am part of that group.

  6. Gie says:

Big Boss killed? He is a kind of hero I think, what happen? I think should finish peace walker immediately.

    • Acid_Snake says:

saying big boss is the hero of metal gear is like saying darth vader is the hero of star wars.

      • Roland says:

In a way he is. If it wasn’t for his actions and decisions Luke would have never became what he was.
The same could be said for Big Boss and Solid Snake.
Though imo, Ocelot was the true hero…
        ( I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t beat 4 )

  7. Adams Myth says:

Good piece. Personally, I think you should also have included a paragraph on how the gameplay of Metal Gear, in its generation of video games, was different and innovative (comparing it to other military-themed games of the era – like Contra).

    • Acid_Snake says:

take into consideration that I’m actually playing these games from start to end in order to review the storyline, and having to do one of this articles a day gives me with little time to work on other aspects of the review. But I agree that I should have reviewed the gameplay some more.

  8. Yolodude says:

When does the new exploit come out?

  9. Zhar the Mad says:

    Good read! Keep ’em coming.

On a side note, if you want to review the megaman games, I could probably help with that.

    I do megaman runs anually.

A countdown to New Year, perhaps?

Nah, I just remembered that megaman is dead. Damn, now I’m sad.:(

  10. DS_Marine says:

    ok, now an important question…
Does big boss screams ‘Snaaaaaaake’ on the codex when you die? :D:D

  11. sparc says:

Actually MSX1, 2 and 2+ in Japan almost always had 64 kB RAM and 128 KB VRAM. The Turbo-R A1 ST has 256 KB and the A1 GT has 512 MB, those however were the last generation of MSX computers. In Europe MSX 1 computer usually had 64 KB RAM and 16 KB VRAM while the MSX2 computers had 128 KB RAM and 128 KB VRAM.

    • Acid_Snake says:

that’s why I said “up to 512KB RAM”, this is a metal gear article, not an MSX article, I only briefly explained the MSX for those who don’t know what it is.

    I just can say something…
    ***, I am super old now…
The NES version of this game was part of my childhood.
