I totally agree, the Vita TV sounds like the type of product that will work out really well for sony. I already bought a vita a few days back so probably won’t be picking up a vita tv when it comes here but you never know, if the price is right I might just get one

  2. Shiggity says:

This device is awesome in concept, but with it not being able to play games that reply on touch input (project diva f etc) I dunno how long ppl’ll keep it… unless of course the analog sticks can simulate the screen touches…

    • Kuara says:

maybe they change the gameplay on project diva f
for the psvita tv like the Ps3 version.
      It’s not so hard xD
have both games at home and only the stars are
      the “touch feeling”

the only game which i think would be troublesome, woul be
      djmax texnika oO

  3. HIMFan says:

They said in an announcement that patches will be released for all controller configrations.

  4. Obito says:

I still don’t see the utility of having a Vita on a TV without the Vita. I rather buy a PS3 instead LOL.

  5. psYos says:

Why can’t Vita owners just get a cord to hook up to the tv and the ability to pair a ps3 controller up to it. Even if the OTG cable is needed, its cheap as heck and would accomplish the same thing. I can see this as a good solution for some, but for those with Vitas already, we should be able to do this instead of spending another $100.

    • Obito says:

      Exactly.

It’s an outage is what it is. I read wololo’s first article where he’s saying this is a good idea.really? So why make a vita in the first place if they just want to sell this thing? Like a comment below says: they’re killing the vita. Smh.

      • jake says:

Same reason why people won’t buy PS2 instead of PS3. Its going to look *** on that 5000 inch TV (hyperbole intended).
In fact we could go on to say why buy the Vita TV instead of PS2? Because the Vita TV is a PS2 basically which will result in the development of more VITA TV games, and more VITA TV games = MORE PS VITA GAMES 😀 😀

    • Antichrist84 says:

Why not just enjoy the vita games on its gorgeous oled screen?

      • jake says:

Next month they will change it to LCD. So the OLED vitas will stop being sold.

        I cri evrytiem :'( <– cri faec

This is a great device for people to play their vita games for less, however after reading today, it is not coming to North America or Europe anytime soon. I hope Sony changes their mind and soon brings this to America and Europe, they must not want peoples money? The Vita TV is a nice compliment to Sonys PS4 and Vita.

I refuse to pay more than $100 for the Vita TV. and I sure wont pay the marked up price for one. It is just supply and demand. I will wait until it arrives in North America, and can get it at my local Walmart for $100.

  7. yeahok says:

Still not getting one. SONY said Vita would remote play PS3 but it does not.

    Pres-ordered Xbox One Instead

  8. meanmachine781 says:

Im glad for sony, and hopefully this is the beginning of better support for vita, but this is definitely aimed towards new playtation costumers that may not have a ps3 or a vita and want to try it, and for 100 is a no brainer

  9. Tnutbutter says:

They are just killing the ps vita even more…

    • Quhark says:

you are right why would someone buy vita for 200$ when this is same for 100$

      • jake says:

Because it’s portable. And since the Vita TV plays vita games for only $100 people will buy it. Thats good for the Vita community cos more games will be developed because of that. And because all Vita TV games can play on Vita, it doesn’t matter which you buy.

It’s like making a new console which will help keep your previous console supported

  10. p867857 says:

Next psvita firmware update no ps4 remote play support.

It amazes me why so many ppl think the vita sales will drop and ppl will buy the vita tv instead, not all of us wants to play vita games on the couch/bed,some of us like to game when we are out and about just like what the vita was actually built for.

    • lennyvita says:

you are right, people will want the vita for being out and traveling somewhere, it is a different setup, vita on the big screen = vita tv, want it portable = vita. this wont stop regular vita sales. people will buy what device they want, but what it will help is vita game sales and hopefully more game developers creating good games for the vita, its a win win situation imo.

For me the announce of this is pretty nice. I’m about to go to Japan for the year, so during this time I can pick up one of these little guys for cheap and use it to play Japanese region games(psn), while keeping my regular Vita on my US account to play my US games. The only thing I can’t remember is if hard copies of vita games are region locked or not, anyone care to let me know?

    • fate6 says:

All Vita games are region free

      • jake says:

different countries have different stores. So I can’t get Netflix, because I am in Europe. However someone using the american store can download netflix.

The Japan store also has quite a dumpload of exclusives on their store.

So although the Vita is region free (meaning you could ship a game from somewhere), Digital Only games are locked to the account you are using, which is locked to your memory stick. So the only way to play Japan PSN exclusives, would be to format your mermory stick, change accounts, ship a psn code for japan, then buy your game. Not to mention doing the same process if you bought stuff on your US (or other country)account, just to play the same games YOU PAID FOR again.

  14. jlo138 says:

If you could wirelessly connect your vita to this to display it on the TV in HD then that would be tempting. Use the vita simply as a controller.

  15. Gogotosho says:

Do not support this garbage. This is one of sonys ways to get your money and not support this device after most likely after a year. This idea could have been
    In the ps vita revision.

  16. Thrawn says:

    “Pirate machine” rofl XD
You mean a good old copy station 🙂

  17. hackinformer says:

I can’t wait to see what kind of exploits, we can run on it. Since it going to be running the psvita os. Specially if we can run TN on it.
