Xbox at E3, Games, Games, and more Games. Also Price and Launch Date!
So it was the Xbox’s E3 conference a while ago, and it seems that like I reported on a while back, its E3 conference will be all about games. So, this is what was announced. Including the likes of De3d Space, Banjo Kazooie, and Mirror’s Edge 2!
Overall, Microsoft showcased over 20 games, which all amazed me, (well apart from Halo)
Amazingly the conference started off with the infamous Metal Gear Solid. I was amazed at this purely because it has been a PlayStation exclusive from the beginning until the start of the PS3 era, and to find that the next generation will start off with Kojima

Don Mattrick promised us that this conference would be all about the games, it started off with them talking about what will be on the Xbox 360, with Yusif talking about what is coming for the Xbox 360, and a new version that looks very similar to the Xbox One, available now!

Another new Xbox game was announced, which was custom built for the Xbox 360 and is a tank warfare game known as World of Tanks – Xbox 360 edition.
The game has a 15v15 multiplayer team warfare, the reason it was built exclusively for the X360 was because of its userbase, a massive 48 million. The game is free to play, and will be released this summer. Here’s a gameplay video of the PC version
There were a few quarrels about the Xbox One’s membership scheme, and wondering if your current account carries over to Xbox One or not. And it seems it does. Your account will be carried over and it’s all fine. So stop worrying!
Something else that Yusif announced, was that for Xbox Live Gold members, there will now be a new system in place that lets you download 2 free games, which you keep, forever. Does this remind you of something? Something like PlayStation Plus? Yeah.
But this is where it’s different, with PS Plus you get 10 free games to use until your subscription ends, with this system, you get 2 free games that are now years, to keep forever.
The games now as of this month are Assassins Creed 2, and Halo 3. Get downloading!
Yet another a new game was announced, known as ‘Max: Curse of the brother’, it looked pretty child friendly, with some action moments so it’s worth keeping your eye out for this one.
The game is about you and your annoying brother, in which you cast a spell you read on the internet to get rid of your brother, and it actually works!
So you, being a 10-something year old go looking for your brother. It is a very… unique game.
The great developer known as ‘From Software’ announced their game Dark Souls 2. The game looks beautiful, nearly as beautiful as myself, the gameplay looks great as well, as sinister as ever, accompanied by an awesome song throughout the trailer!

Phil Spencer came on to speak about history never before more games and support with the best games publishers around. He spoke about the new game, Ryse: Son of Rome.
The game had some excellent voice acting, along with extremely fluent mo-cap. During the showcasing of the game it showed gameplay, and it seems it is a third person game, where you play Marious Titus (I think that’s how you spell it) a roman commander. You control his troops like you can call them to their side, you can order them to take over catapults, and even form the ever well known ‘shield’ which they used when they were getting fired at by arrows. This looks like such a great game, I don’t believe it is a system seller though.
Look, it was a long gameplay demo, so there was a lot to right about.
Cevat Yeli took the stage to describe their new game, Ryse. It is a launch game which believe it or not is playable on the show floor at E3.
The game utilizes the beautiful CryEngine, also known for its Crysis series.
Killer instinct is back, I have never heard of this game before but it looks pretty good. Not much was said on it so here’s the trailer captured by GameTrailers-
Insomniac, the team behind Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, and more recently FUSE and announced a new, Xbox One exclusive called Sunset overdrive. The game looks like, wait for it…… another zombie shooter. Yep.
It looks amazing though, it is a free roaming game where you have unique weapons, like a record shooter (yes, the old, giant CD things) The trailer was accompanied by an awesome sountrack and there’s a trailer for it, right below!
As much as I liked this game, I was a bit *** at how Insomniac have gone Xbox exclusive, it’s a shame to see a team like that, PS faithful for about 9 years, to then release 1 game and then be a Xbox exclusive game making company… I guess it’s a bit like bungie!
Forza 5, now. The show for this was opened up with someone talking about Maclaren, and thy were talking about a car that was only 2 of them on the world. And they got one on stage! It looked beautiful. I kinda zoned out on this one, but this is what I got, apart from being annoyed that he said ‘aluuminoom’ (sounded a bit like Ilumiroom)
New AI, learns driveatar how you drive, when you are at work, driveatar learns from other users online. This is a true racing simulator!
Trailer, all in game footage, looks amazing but unfortunately they used replay footage, and we know that replay graphics is better than the actual gameplay, bit of a lie really isn’t it?
This was all I could find on te E3 conference for it, here you go:
Phill Harrison spoke about his indie games, and has announced that Minecraft is coming to Xbox One…. can’t wait for the upgraded graphics on it.
Oh, wait…
Sam Lake after, to speak about Quantum break. The game is a TV show with a video game counterpart, yes, again, an exclusive. He showed in game footage from a cutscene, which confirms there will be 2 separate things, a TV show and a game.
Project Spark
A kinect game. Yay. It is where you create your own world, and looks amazing. The game is a very interactive one, where you can create and edit nearly everything, you can make rocks your pet, or even turn them into a mech suit.
I couldn’t get everything out to their game, being as it was a shortish demo, but you can put enemies in, goblins for example. And use smart glass to edit the land around you.
You can launch fireballs from your hands, and many other cool features like that. The only thing I didn’t like about this presentation was the presenters. They were the annoying – trying to oversell their product kind. Once a fireball hit the ground… “BOOM… haha” and ” Get him rock boy!”
Maybe it’s just me, but I hate that.
Mark Whitten (the Scott Shelby lookalike) took the stage after Project SPARK, and he spoke about Xbox Live and uploadstudio, this feature is similar to share and you can edit your game recording as it records your gameplay automatically.
Among this, you can also live stream your gameplay on twitch. how great!
Mark also announced how rather than being limited to 100 friends, you can now have ‘all your friends’ and how you can share your Xbox live gold memberships can be shared with family members on your own console.
Oh, and Xbox Live has updated their marketplace so rather than ‘points’ it is now your local currencies. (£/$)
Crimson Dragon
There was a new ANOTHER new game known as Crimson Dragon. It seems like a dragon simulator where you have really, wierd spells you shoot out of your mouth. The reveal was a bit of a flop being as there was no sound…
Capcom… What game could it possible be?
Josh Bridge and Mike Jones was front and centre for it. and the game seemed to be an open world zombie game… hmm what could it possibly be?
Dead Rising 3! yes!
third person game and it looked a bit odd. I wasn’t to fond of it to be perfectly honest but parts of it really made me laugh. For example, you can craft weapons like Sledge hammer/ chainsaw compilation, and then trow it at a zombie to cut it in half. Awesome.
You can also fashion tactical handguns from torch and a gun taped together. An awesome thing that happened in the trailer was how you can call in artillery support through smartglass, and also, you can find camaros to mow down zombies!
The next game was The witcher 3 wild hunt. It is being worked on through DX 11 and is free roam, features over 100+ gameplay from hand built/non linear quests and exclusively to Xbox, you can implement optional voice commands- quick switching/ attack commands

EA and Dice now, battlefield 4 was showcased, and they showed beautiful 60fps uncut gameplay.
The funny thing is, the video sc*** up and there was a few clever shout outs from the crowd, including ‘AMAZING’ and ‘HA-HA’ traditional Nelson style. When it started cheers erupted from (nearly) everywhere.
The demo opened up with a fullout fight in a ship. Every now and then the camera decided to prove that this was actually being played, rather than a recorded game.

Sorry, I had to have the stream on 360p for smoothness, this is what the HUD looks like anyway
The level ended with you being pulled into a boat after jumping of the massive aircraft carrier, and you taking helm of a nice, big gun to shoot the heck out of everything. Them, you were shot at and the level ended.
Oh, and something else. Xbox is getting timed DLC!
another new studio, and they were making some game called Halo. Not sure what game that is, but
So, Halo Spartan Assault, Live Action series, and a game? bloody heck.
The game is just simple called ‘Halo’ and runs at a beautiful 60fps. Not much was said about it, other than a simple trailer so help me out if I missed anything!
Pricing and Launch
At the end, they announced a few things you may find interesting. The pricing and launch!
It was said that it will be released sometime in November.
Price tag? A heavy $499/£429. Ouch.
The End ! 😀
but it’s time for me to check over my notes I made throughout it, and make them make sense on here.
What do you think of the games? Did they impress you, are you annoyed?
A few things may be missing, fill in the others in the comment box!
Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 were on MSX,not PlayStation. I don’t know if I’m excited about MGS5 anymore, I don’t see open world being the right choice for the series.
Also, World of Tanks already exists on PC, so it’s not exactly exclusive…
Killer Instinct??? WOW!!! I remember playing that in the arcades growing up and getting my *** kicked on the SNES!!! A great title back in the days.
YES IT WAS i loved that game i can still hear him say MONSTER COMBO!!! lol great game hopefully that got the game play right!
LOL!!!
Looks good. Why is the price higher than PS4? I think the specs are the same, so the price should be near, I can’t understand
The specs of the PS4 are more & it has some more new features, & it’s cheaper for some reason, Microsoft are gonna lose. 😛
>Including the likes of… Banjo Kazooie
u wot m8
I’m getting a XBox One just for Killer Instinct, anyone want to buy a liver… 😀
Dark Souls 2!!!!!!!!!! gasms
