Sony announced a few hours ago that PS3 Firmware 4.21 is coming “soon” (Update: it’s now available).
It is an optional update, with minor stability improvements.

Kinda makes you wonder why they’re doing this update. I mean, it’s not like anyone’s bothering to make it so people past 3.55 can use CFW, everyone’s more concerned with charging people to pirate Sony’s games.
RE: My Point.
The point is, there’s obviously nothing that Sony needs to patch to keep ahead of the hackers on the PS3, so this update’s even more useless than usual.
hackers are not the only reason to update something ^_-
Beware. this update makes the ps3 overheat and it causes the system to turn off itself off.
are you sure its not just a faulty PS3 ?
Why are there never any posts for the Xbox 360 or Wii?
My knowledge is on Sony products, primarily the PSP and the Vita. If we manage to get more guest bloggers, maybe we’ll see some news on the Xbox and the Wii here, one day 🙂

I love Sony products too but I also own an Xbox 360 and Wii and I wouldn’t mind learning things about them like the PS3, PSP, and PS Vita.
