    Its been released.
    Pretty cool app 😀

Well interestingly enough. I still do not understand the purpose of a youtube app. Apple doesnt even update theirs, watch sony do the same.

A youtube app would become obsolete, or will never be updated.

I suppose its a start! Looking forward to the HTML5 support as well. What time will the app be released today?

    YEAHH!!! YEAHH! YE-YE-YEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Mr. Awsome says:

On the MOST IMPORTANT NOTE(!), do you know when the update will be released?

  5. MUD says:

    5MB, I’m downloading it now. 🙂

    wololoさん。。日本のPSstoreにYoutubeアップ見えません。まだまだか?゚(゚´Д`゚)゚どういう事ですか。

Fi-na-lly. How could the Vita called a high-tech gadget without access to Youtube. BIG waste of screen. And Sony is wondering why the sales of the 3G version is so low.

  8. TheGuardian says:

Are those screeshots the Sony’s version of Super Smash Bros Brawl? I mean to me this is pretty low, going to the point of ripping off one of your competitor’s signature games? That was low Sony, and for the Youtube App… Meh!

  9. Norml says:

Great, no html5 and we still can’t watch the videos on the official $ony website. smart

    • wololo says:

Didn’t think about that, yeah this is pretty dumb, but not surprising from Sony. The have been constantly failing at creating a multimedia ecosystem unifying their services and devices.

      • OMightyBuggy says:

I have no idea why Sony never listens to the people of what they want there device to do?

The annoying thing for me is that damn bluetooth popping up almost every time I turn it off or the system off/on. That bug should of been fixed on the last 3 updates.

So YouTube is nice but a full internet browser with plugin support for Java/HTML5/Flash/etc would of been better…

You should make a thread of what you think the PS Vita should do within the limits of the hardware Wololo. I would like to see that, maybe Sony might see it. 🙂

Well, as I understand, Japanese culture is the kind that gives more importance to older and more experienced people than to younger ones. This might be the case with sony where the head of the company could someone with a lot of experience in the business. This even applies in business matters where the head of the business usually thinks he knows better than the customers. In other words, sony’s head might be thinking that what we ask for is not what we truly want and therefore they give us what they think we want.

For instance, they might think that we TRULY want a youtube app in the vita and that we DON’T want html5 support in the browser.

Well, that is what my teacher at the college says, but Wololo who lives in Japan can tell how right or wrong I am with this answer. It is more a cultural thing I suppose.

      • jamhouse says:

i agree, i dont know who makes decisions there at sony but its obviously someone that is not up to date with the technology and has no communication with what the customers want.
the key to a great product is giving the consumer what they want and sony never listens to the consumer so they fail every time.

      • Norml says:

Yeah & like $ony does, they even announced such inconsistencies to the public claiming they would rework the way they run business(article I saw was on IGN I believe a few months back(time passes…just more lies from $ony)ever sense that one top CEO? left the company they’ve went to ***(& before then, the dude left because he saw failure…wish I had the sources). Just like movies, now their plaguing the gaming industry, they have no focus anymore & are way over their head if you ask me. They release a device and let it sit … to think that the Vita has been out over 6 months, half a year already.
They’re repeating the PSPs history & there’s no piracy excuse to blame. The ripped off low memory, memory cards repeated was the start…it’s pretty embarcing still being a $ony customer.

        • wololo says:

True. My main source of concern nowadays is how investors stopped trusting Sony almost 5 years ago.

Basically Sony is quickly running out of money, and it gives them less and less freedom to innovate. The chances to see the vita becoming great are slimer everyday. And it’s not like they’re great at software in general, so we shouldn’t expect miracles for the vita…

          • Norml says:

Yeah, that’s why they have the app store, trying to leave it to the true developers like Apple did but even than, thank god for people like yourself jailbreaking became legal…so all the updates Apple did, are all stolen, years later(some you pay to get, but they’re even better than the official added features…where they lie and say the device can never support it…)…these companies just got too big.
It’s like yeah, $ony is hardware but, the MP3 player does not even have a visualizer like the original PSP did. They are not amateurs, bah, I knew I was getting into when I bought the Vita but it’s a damn shame I was right(with the thoughts I knew to be true).

when can be release the VHBL for 1,69 FW?

  16. cscash241 says:

Its working on 1.67 and It didnt ask me to upgrade, all I did is I havent turn my vita off since the 1.69 update was released

  17. D says:

Found a Possible Vulnerability in the app…

  18. Shadow says:

Youtube app now in EU store 😀

and the app already got an update to “improve stability”

  19. metalslug53 says:

For clarification, it would seem that an update to the most recent firmware is NOT necessary to download the new YouTube app. I myself am running firmware 1.67, was able to connect to the Shop without any issues, download not only the YouTube app, but also a few other things as well, and did all of it without updating.

I find it strange that I was able to do so. Usually, Sony makes it a priority to mandate an update before downloading new apps. Makes me wonder what they will do when the PS1 support is released.
