Hey wololo do u have anyprogress on the super colapse 3 exploit cause i would really would like to play geometry wars

I haven’t made any progress on the super collapse 3 port yet. The best answer I can give you is: get yourself a hacked PSP, and start helping on the VHBL port.

It is *not* easy, but doable. If you keep relying on one guy (me) to do the work, the day that guy leaves the scene you’re left with nothing.
On the other hand, if you take the 2-3 hours it requires to compile VHBL and look into the code, you’ll become an asset.

Think about it. I’d rather have a dozen people bothering me about how they can improve vhbl, than people waiting for a solution.

This is nothing personal, just a general answer to all people who are waiting for improvements on the Super Collapse 3 port: try to do it yourself, this will be the best way you can contribute to the scene. And if you try and fail, feel free to ask for help, from me or other devs.

I came from a look at the blog running thinking it was some news of VHBL

  3. Chocogow says:

its ps3news but im not a ps3hacker but i whas asking if there whas gonna be an update for av vhbl

    • Green Ranger says:

If you have read Wololo’s last article then you would know that it still takes some time to port the VHBL to a useful exploit.

      And!!!!!! Attention Please!!!!!!

No VHBL or even the exploitable Game will be released before Sony would finally release a Mayor-FW Update with the promised PSX-Game compatibility or the Youtube-Support!!!!!!!

Otherwise we would waste an useful exploit for a 1.69 FW who had no new Features except the patching of the SC3 Exploit 😉

      So be patient 😉

      and to Chocogow 🙂

Every exploitable Game and his exploiit has issues with some homebrews :). I think Wololo has enough work to port his VHBL to a new Game. Maybe in the Future he would try to improve the compatibility of SC3. But i think, if Tony release his kxploit and the posibility to rum a CFW on the PSP-Emu, this would be a waste of time because with a CFW and Kernel-Access we schould have no Problems to run all of the PSP Homebrew that would run on a PSP with a CFW 🙂

ps: my other reply belong to Bahiano 🙂 I’t shouldn’t sound kinda rude 😉

I whas just asking i know porting takes time and increasing compability

  5. Marcus says:

Wololo, I think I have a very clever way of getting the vhbl hack to more people, and prolonging the time it takes for sony to remove that game from PSN. Please reply or email me because I have no clue how to directly contact you.

So Wololo, I’ve been reading your article more frequently lately and saw your post regarding getting people more involved. I’m currently in the process on learning Python and C++. How would I transfer these skills I’m developing to creating homebrew or contributing to the scene (PSP/PS3/Vita) in some way? I’m sure there are others at this stage similar to me and have no idea where to go next which in turn may cause many to become discouraged.

    Thanks again, Wololo.

Hi, The way you get into this depends on people, but I think the first step is to get both knowledge of 1) typical exploits/security and 2) the system you’re running on.

One article I like to mention for 1) is the following: http://www.securiteam.com/securityreviews/5OP0B006UQ.html
This describes buffer overflows, a very simple and common attack.
Buffer overflows are still very common, but will tend to disappear as modern programming languages have more securities about boundaries checks. It is still an interesting read. buffer overflows are the source of 90% of user mode exploits on the psp.

For 2), what worked for me was to create a PSP homebrew. To get started, I myself used mostly pspdev.org as my main source of knowledge, but you can also try psp-programming.com.
Of course, all of this is for the PSP. There is nothing very helpful yet for the Vita, although trying to develop your own game using the Playstation Suite might give you a bit of knowledge on the subject.

Finally, following the scene websites has helped me a lot in the past. When a hacker releases an exploit, try to understand how they did it, what tools they used, etc… I have a compilation of articles on the subject here: http://wololo.net/hacking-portal/
