Homebrew Preparer: no more headaches to install homebrews on VHBL
Many people have contacted me because they have been having trouble packaging their PSP homebrews correctly in order to install them through wMenu on VHBL.
Fear not, as developer SILENTGame comes to rescue you, with PS Vita Homebrew preparer, an app that does most of the work for you. Note: version 0.2 released recently fixes a critical bug that prevented the zips from actually working.
How to use
- Download PS Vita homebrew Preparer here
- unzip and run from your windows machine
- Select a zipped homebrew
- click on the big “Prepare PSP homebrew game” button
- Done, now you can copy the game to your CMA Data folder (remember, it is actually recommended to use Open CMA), and from there copy it to your vita, and install it from VHBL
A Nice tool indeed, and I sure hope that some updates will make it even more convenient to use (possibility to choose an unzipped folder containing one or several homebrews could be nice).
don’t hesitate to say thanks to SILENTGame on his release thread here!

Hey guys i get an error when i try to install homebrew the half byte loads fine with motorstorm eu version and when i try to load the homebrew to install i get this error c1-2858-3 anyone knows what is the problem?
can someone try PSPdisp if its working ??
Ps vita already has a program for that. It’s called desktop remote.
I made a .bat for doing that but still interesting
thats cool but i’m still gonna wait for the non-game vhbl installer
can someone put a step bu step video on how to do this. Thanks in advance
If i were to reinstall a homebrew emulator liek gpsp kai onto the vita, woudl every file be deleted if it already exists or does it keep savestates and saves intact?
Don’t want to lose progress on games just because vhbl deletes everything in the same path instead of updating the files.
If you dont have trouble installing homebrew does this make it any easier? I am glad that we are getting tools out there to help everyone 🙂
No, it’s mostly for people who didn’t get the whole “store” compression setting thing, basically
Vita Firmware 1.65 is out, its *** don’t update!
were can i go to download homebrew games?
and pkg extractor and prx decrypt and prxtool ?
Dead link for download.
