Touhou for PSP
Sometimes we miss a gem. kene-touhou-mohofu, or, shorter and simpler, Touhou for PSP is one of those “why didn’t I know about this 2 years ago???” kind of moments. This is a fanmade homebrew inspired by a famous series of Japanese indie games of the same name. This PSP adaptation has been around for more than 2 years, and I must admit I played it for the first time yesterday.
Don’t get mistaken by the thumbnail here, the game is an action-packed scrolling space shooter. People who played rRootage will feel at ease, people like me who are not used to seeing hundreds of projectiles at once on the same screen might freak out, but for us mere mortals, there’s always the easy mode 🙂
The game has a story mode (although when I tried it it mentioned an error about some missing files, maybe not everything is included in the archive ?), difficulty selection, awesome graphics and musics, continue options, everything you would expect in a commercial game. The pace of the game is great, and it’s difficult to believe this is a homebrew. Dialogs are all in Japanese, but it remains a pure action game, so you will still enjoy it a lot even if you don’t get the story.
The latest version was released back in September, so it’s fairly recent, and it runs perfectly on the latest Pro CFW

this is how its layed out on my psp and it works without any problems including story mode (even if i cant understand it [can someone please start working on a translated version, pretty please])

Played it a long time ago, I’m pretty big nerd of the Touhou series, it’s really good for a PSP homebrew.
Reimu’s kinda useless, Marisa’s also kinda useless, Remilia & Yuyuko are hax, and Cirno is well… Ok.
Boss selection is kinda wierd though… Alice (PCB stage 3) as first stage boss, Mima (One of the last bosses) as Stage 2, Kaguya (IN final stage) as Stage 3… Forgot Stage 4 & 5, but Sakuya (EoSD Stage 5) as the final boss? Really wish I knew what the story is talking about.
well its not much a space shooter. since you are controlling little girls who shoot fairies.
The genre is called bullet heck. the actual games have far more boolits.

HUGE fan of touhou [or bullet heck] for psp though… i am LOVING IT… its a miracle to me only for whar i want. and the strange thing is im doing this from my psp [typing this in]
