Wow this is totally useless for psp user like me. dude this is not an educational competition, we need super cool homebrews/plugins that would totally make PSP history unforgettable.

    • wololo says:

The competition is open to everyone, even people who lack humility, so feel free to impress us 🙂

  3. Sonicstop says:

Great, I allways wanted something like Anki on PSP

  4. JordyVision says:

Great idea, hope it does the job well.
Been learning Japanese for a few years, this might add to my vocabulary.

Nakano… Isn’t the same guy who did PSPEdict? Unfortunately PSPEdict crashes on my PSP, so whatever…

    • nakano says:

Hi! I didn’t create PSPEdict from scratch like this application; I merely updated PSPEdict. Sorry to hear it crashes for you. It works stable enough with 5.00m33-6. But there are three things I am aware of that may crash PSPEdict:
      1) Your custom dictionary is not in a right format (File parser is really demanding. I would have liked to modify it, but parsing logic is complex. When I created AnyLanguageStudy, one of my main goal was to let people to create word lists as easily as possible).
      2) You run out of memory.
      3) You keep hitting R/L when scrolling kanji images.

      • Caio says:

Thanks for the reply! Actually I simply installed PSPEdict using the instructions in the readme file, and it always freezes my PSP when it asks me to press X to continue (I’ve tested it on HBL in 6.10, 6.20 TN and 6.35 PRO-B).

????, I’ve installed AnyLanguageStudy, nice application! Although I didn’t like a few things, I’ll be using it once in a while, mainly because I’ll be an undergraduate student in Japan next month.

BTW, this one worked on my PRO-B so no problems here.

        • nakano says:

If there are any things you think requires change in AnyLanguageStudy and are possible to do, let me know. As for PSPEdict, you could try signing eboot (http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1916).

May I ask where in Japan you’re going to?

          • Jhon says:

            Dear nakano..

        • nakano says:

I tried the signing for you, but the current pscrypter didn’t work with it.

          • Caio says:

Thanks anyway! Yes, I was just trying to sign it when I saw your post.

If I have any suggestion about AnyLanguageStudy I will try to notify you…

Oh, and I’m going to Osaka.

    Very.. very… veeeeeeeeeeeeeryyyyyyyyy GREAT HOMEBREW.
This helps me a lot because I study Japanese by my own (i haven’t an acádemy near 🙁 , but now I have this homebrew!)

    Thankss!
    Arigato Gozaimasu!
    ???????????

  8. Kassad says:

NOOOOOooooo It doesn’t work on my 6.35 PRO and I don’t want to update to LCFW 6.35 Pro B because there is a light risk of brick (and i’m using a new PSP GO)

    🙁

    • nakano says:

I don’t have 6.35 PRO so I cannot test, but could it be that Intrafont cannot load jpn0.pgf and ltn0.pgf for you? If so, search (index.lua) the lines “ifont = IntraFont.load(” and tell the path.

For example, get pgf-files from somewhere and store these files to the same directory as eboot.pbp. Then write “ifont = IntraFont.load(“ltn0.pgf”, IntraFont.STRING_UTF8);” and “ifont = IntraFont.load(“jpn0.pgf”, IntraFont.STRING_UTF8);”. If this is the reason for not working with you, I can automate this check. However, I cannot distribute pgf files. I can do this check, nevertheless, but would like to know if this is the reason.

Thank you very much for reporting the issue!

    • nakano says:

This signed eboot might work for you http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C9MTLM2M. If you can confirm it works, I’ll sign next release too. I am planning to release the next version when wololo updates splash screen (I was told it should happen soon).

      • Kassad says:

Ok, i will test it when Megaupload allow me to download the file -.-
I will report with the results

        Thanks!

  9. Kassad says:

It works signed on 6.35 PRO! Thanks again!

    Problem solved ^^

  10. Kassad says:

I’ve got a suggestion for new versions if you are going to update it a little more.
My suggestion is add a option that, if I activate it, the program don’t skip to the next question, when I select the correct answer, until I have pressed a button.
I think that it can be useful for check and study why or what answer is correct, sometimes if I don’t know the answer I press randomly a button and, if it is correct, I don’t know what button I have pressed (LOL).

    Thanks

    • nakano says:

      Hi!

Thanks for all the feedback. I thought that idea too for the exactly same reason, but wasn’t sure if it is needed. I think I still have room for one more option so I might add it. I try to update the homebrew by the end of this month. I am a little busy at the moment (and even more in April), but I try to do this in v0.5.

I haven’t even tried this yet and I’m getting pumped already. I had a website I use for things like this, but having it on my PSP will be great.

<3 this competition. Thanks NPT, Psp-hacks and Wololo.

  12. Andy says:

    Hi nakano,
I downloaded PSPedict, but it crashes on my PSP Go where it says
    X-Continue…
Is there a way to fix this problem? The links you gave didn’t work.
    My e-mail is andyphoto888@hotmail.com
    Thanks!

Can you give me a tip, I followed the simple instructions to install anylanguage v3.0 u , though every time I open it, it crashes. I have more than enough space 1.7g’s on my psp. Might you have any suggestions? I quite would like to study Korean and Japanese.

  14. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough
to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a excellent job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet explorer.

    Superb Blog!
