If you don’t know about it yet, the PSP Genesis competition is the biggest PSP Homebrew contest ever, involving all the major PSP websites as sponsors. Today, daxhordes.org and pspcustomfirmware.com are joining us. They will each provide 100$ to the contest. pspcustomfirmware.com is adding 100$ to the first prize, raising it to an impressive total of 1800$ (yes, that’s a LOT). daxhordes.org will be holding a vote on their forums, and send 100$ to the best homebrew selected by their members.

In total, the prizes for this competition are now reaching an estimate of 4500$!

I’ve seen concerns that with the incredible prizes, we only accept “veteran” coders, or that your homebrew won’t be taken into consideration… this is completely not true (and, if you think about it, if many people think like this, you even have more chances to win!). The judges don’t think that way, and as you can see we all have different expectations with the homebrews you will send us… In other words, everybody has a chance to win, nothing’s decided in advance, and there are now enough prizes that potentially a dozen homebrew creators might be rewarded with big prizes. If you think about it, this is way more winners than most homebrew contests, and even with that the lowest prizes are worth it 🙂

By the way we will be getting a “good” splash screen soon, (our designer’s on it) the one currently on the website is still a temporary one (who knows, we might even get more sponsors… anybody interested to raise the first prize to 2000$? Or the total prizes to 5000$? contact us!)
