The NGP will cost 328$
Before people start quoting me on this value, this is not a value I’m taking from nowhere, but not a serious value either :).
I simply asked to members of the /talk community how much they would be ready to pay for the NGP on release day, and 328$ is currently (as I type this) the average value.
Now, let’s be serious, we all know that these devices are more expensive than what we want them to be, especially on release date, So I guess that means the NGP will be costing at least 400$.
So now we have it: the price people are ready to pay is around 350$, I add 50$ for “balance”, and Sony said it would not cost 599$ (which, hopefully, means it will be less :P).
What’s your estimate? How much would you pay for the NGP? And would you rather get a 3DS/iPhone/Android/whatever if the NGP is too expensive?

The NGP seems like a worth-while upgrade in my opinion. A true touch screen along with a high res display, downloadable content only, and dual analog sticks. Sure you may hate apple but I use my iOS devices on a daily basis. I can’t say that about my PSP. Will the NGP replace the iPod/iPad, probably not. But Sony is definitely going in the right direction. I just hope the thing has decent battery life.
If the NGP costs over 300$, and believe me knowing Sony it may even cost 400$, no I won’t buy it. To many types of controls.
You may say it has graphics similar to the PS3 but this is an 8th-Gen portable console so really you need to wait and see what the 8th-Gen home consoles will be like.
so I say no I will most probably be getting a 3ds.
