6.35/6.31 -> 6.20 Downgrader by Davee
I know, I’m 24hrs late on this one… real life does that to people.
As he announced a while ago, Davee release a downgrader for people who are on OFW 6.35/6.31 and want to go back to 6.20. You already know it works, but I tested it for you on my psp3000 (Davee, I actually trust you so much that I didn’t even try on my phat before that 🙂 )
As you probably already know, we’re currently in a weird situation on the PSP scene, where two systems exist for Homebrew fans. One called TN Hen for 6.20 users, the other one is Hen Pro for 6.31/6.35 users.
Both these Hens (Homebrew Enabler) have pros and cons, support different plugins, have different homebrew compatibility. Let’s be honest, I was expecting one to take over the other, but that never really happened.
So, as a user, you are given a choice between 6.20 and 6.35. Of course, once on 6.35, you can’t go back, so if you don’t like this firmware, you’re kind of sc***…well that was true until this release. Now Davee gives you the possibility to test both 6.20 and 6.35, then choose which one you like…and change again as much as you want if you have lots of free time on your hands.

- Download here (or mirror here)
- Copy the “PSP/Game/downgrader” folder in the PSP/Game/downgrader folder of your memory stick.
- download the 6.20 Firmware update here
- Put the 6.20 firmware update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
- Run the “downgrader” from your PSP, and follow the instructions (wich consists in pressing “X” when asked to).
This is a nice utility (and impressive too, considering that Sony blocked the “usual” ways of downgrading in recent firmwares).
Davee’s Downgrader uses works from other devs in the scene, and the Readme gives thanks to bbtgp, coyotebean, kgsws, Silverspring, and Bubbletune.
The package includes full sources (and a README if the instructions above are not enough), what more do you want? 🙂
downgrading is a risky procedure, and if you mess up you can end up with a bricked PSP. This downgrader has been confirmed by enough people to work, but don’t downgrade unless you really need to!

im on 6.35 with psp slim TA-o93 try to downgrade then it just crashes on “please wait”
can anybody help ??
It also crashed my PSP the first time. I think it supposed to do that. Launch it again from the XMB menu and it should work. If that doesn’t work, unplug the power charger if you had it plugged in but make sure its 100% charged.
is not crashing anymore, but when it says to press x, my psp goes to the XMB…

yes, i did. It seems that my buttons don’t work while running the downgrader….
@Shadar akai1987 saind that we need to execute the update with the power adapter conected…
Where do you put the SRC folder?
The SRC folder is for developers, you don’t put it anywhere.
and by the way if i downgrade straigth for 5.03 it will work or brick?does anyone know or try this
Do not downgrade to 5.03 if you have a PSP 3000, they can’t go that low.

Hey I downgraded my psp go from 6.35 but there is something I am worried about. I got the blue screen error and I pushed O and all that and it went fine. But I had to reactivate my psp go to still play my games that I bought from PSN. I know it is activation per console but I am thinking now that my psn account registers my psp go with 6.35 and now a psp go with 6.20? I am starting to panic because I really want 4 inactivated consoles (you kinda get the picture) Or does it not matter because of the MAC address on my psp unchanged? Or did the mac address change in the downgrade process…… D: please answer!
Relax, I just checked my account on the Qriocity site. It still registers me as having the same number of PSPs as it did before. I think it has something to do with the PSP’s ID, the same thing the Action Replay PSP used to bind the AR to a single PSP.

Hey guys… i just upgraded my 6.30 ofw to 6.35 ofw to run the 6.20 downgrader aaaaand….. a pretty cool message just popped up: something like “08g not supported”. Does it say that my f***ng MoBo won’t let this tool work? and so, if that’s is true (hope no!), is there another way??

everything went ok, til the mensage “08g not suported whatever”….
so, I don’t see too much risk, I just couldn’t Bcuz my MoBo seems to don’t support this tool…
if someone tell me another way, i’ll be thankful for all the 6.20 tn-c lasting time!

Worked on My PSP 3004 with 4g module. I was very stressed wen it was downgrading lol 🙂 But it worked. Yay! Can’t beleive i did it. LOL 😀
Who knows now not unbrick a skirt for my puppy! still at 6.31 user!

Yes, you need the UPDATE 6.20 for PSP Go http://www.mediafire.com/?6e2w8kz473pbk If it doesn’t say PSPGo then it is the WRONG download. If you have a phat or slim….get the 6.20 download that just says “PSP Firmware 6.20 Update” (27.57 MB)

With Pandora and a PSP Phat or EARLY Slim Model….you can go to CFW. Otherwise-NO

It will work on ALL PSP models upto version6.35 firmware. Just be sure you get the 6.20 update for psp slim/fat NOT the update for PSP Go. You MUST put this update “download” into a folder you make called UPDATE (all capital letters), then put that into PSP-GAme folder. Be sure and put the Davee Downgrader onto the ROOT (is same place where PSP,Picture,Video….folders are) Just drag out the PSP folder from the downgrader “download” and place anywhere on the ROOT (not inside anything)….now just ALLOW the overwrite of ALL files. Do NOTHING with the SRC file (not used…that is TOOLS for hackers). Now get out of DATA connect and go to PSP menu on handheld and START the Downgrader application (do NOT start the 6.20 update)….that HACKER Downgrader program will do the work AND then connect to the update 6.20 THEN is okay to finish. The PSP must have a FULL battery of have the power cable attached (do NOT turn off power or remove the cord while the update is running)…..you will see a BLUE screen after finished. Just push O button to allow to go and FIX the date-time-name……the password in security feature will be default 0-0-0-0 *You do all this and it WILL WORK.
You will also need to install the TN-C for 6.20 (put in GAME folder), and need to find the “Prometheus ISO Loader” (use google to find it) *any version of the Prometheus ISO Loader will work for all firmwares….put that homebrew in GAME folder also. After running the TN-C from XMB you can push the SELECT button and a NEW screen with white letters should be there….and in system setting it will say 6.20 TN-C

Yes! You will brick your PSP-3000. Because 300x series can’t hack full with 5.00 m33-6 version. So do not try to downgrade.

09gs and 07gs can only go as low as 6.30. Never really heard of 08g much but I’m guessing they’re about the 08gs but I’m guessing they’re 6.30 too.

guys. if i follow the correct procedure with downgrading. is there a chance to brick my psp GO??? or it depends on my psp’s motherboard? i just want to make sure before i downgrade it 🙂 thx guys in advance.. sorry for my low english xD
The chances are VERY SMALL that you will BRICK your PSP. But it can happen with ANY update (even correct original Sony update from UMD or Sony download) Most chance is if you remove power cable or LOW BATTERY when doing the update…..just set the machine down and let it do it’s thing…and follow directions. AFTER you downgrade the screen will turn BLUE with many languages….just push O button. Default security password is 0-0-0-0

Can someone explain to me how to use either 5.03Gen-C or 5.03m33-6. I tried both but I can’t play some of my games like kingdom hearts and Valkyria Chronicles 2. I tried the prome-4 for 5.03Gen-C but It always show as 5.03 prome-3. For awhile I’m gonna use 6.20TN-C because all of the game works(Yes, the games that I own).

UPDATE: nevermind, i had to take out the battery and do it with the charger
