TN Hen B will be released in a few hours
Christmas was awesome for your PSP, but Santa Claus Total_Noob is back for new year’s eve! pspgen.com announced a few minutes ago that Total_Noob sent them an update to the TN Hen, named 6.20TN-B.
pspgen said the update would be released within a few hours 🙂
Below is the full changelog, comments in italic are by me.
- -Fixed homebrew execution crash on some PSPs (thanks to HacKmaN for debugging)
- -Added 4g model support (this will fix issues for most psp3000 users)
- -Resolved some important NIDs (this means more plugin and kernel homebrew compatibility)
- Added FAKE INDEX.DAT to TN VSH Menu.
- Dump whatever FW with psardumper.
- Copy /F0/vsh/etc/version.txt to /seplugins/version.txt.
- Enable the option and restart VSH, now your PSP version is faked. -> To downgrade just dump a lower FW. (I do not recommend to downgrade if you have a unhackable motherboard until it is proven to work. Downgrading is most likely useless, and on some models will give you a brick)
And for 6.3x users…well, be patient, your time will come 🙂
I can’t stress enough how downgrade can be dangerous on some PSPs. Be sure to fully understand what this feature does once it is released, before you come back to us with a brick.

i have a question, what is the best cfw out right now? and also i have a psp 1000 6.20 with tn hen b, to which firmware should i downgrade to?
really hope that the 6.3X HEN will be realeased soon!

I dont know what happend but when i changed and format the memory stick pro duo i didnt have another crash again, so for me now theres no point to upgrade the TN HEN.
PSP 3001, 6.20, before i had problems with crashes and i had to take out my memory stick for using a hombrew.
YAY!!!! I have successfully downgraded my psp 3004 from 6.20 to 5.03 but it was heart pounding cause I thought my psp would brick cause it displayed the blue screen of death after I downgraded but I just pressed O and took me back to the xmb. Now my psp’s system software is 5.03 GEN-C (full).

ok heres what you do:
1. download an official 5.00fw update and dump all of it using new psardumper, heres the link: http://www.bbtgp.net/downloads/PSARDUMPER_6XX.zip then follow the instrustions
2. put the 5.00 eboot.pbp at ms0:/EBOOT.PBP
3. start psardumper on your psp and dump all of the EBOOT.PBP files on you memoty stick.
4. after you finish dumping, you will find an “f0” folder on the root of your memory stick, open it and you should find “vsh” open it then you will
find “etc” then you open that again and youll find “version.txt” Copy it to your desktop for future use.
5. download an official 5.03 fw update and put it in
ms0:/psp/game/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
6. create a folder on the root of your memory stick and name it “seplugins”
and place the version.txt to that folder(seplugins)
7. run the patapon exploit
8. after that enable index.dat then restart vsh
9. you can now start to update version 5.03 from 6.20
10. it should start it like a regular psp update and after that is finished, it
should restart and you would probably see the blue screen of death.
But dont worry just press O and youll be on your way.
* I am not held responsible if you brick your psp and don’t blame anyone or even myself cause you’ve been warned.
*never put an unofficial theme to your psp if its not fully hacked. Just so you know.
PSARDUMPER is basically to get the” version.txt ” that you need to paste in seplugins? Am I right? so if there is downloadable “version.txt” i can just paste it in my seplugins folder then put the update 5.03 in the PSP / GAME folder and enable the Index.dat then restart the VSH. CORRECT?

I got a question, do I really need to use the dumper to dump a FW in order to fake my FW version? I think on some other forum it said if I go in to flash0 and change the version.txt to a higher FW, wouldn’t that be faking the version already?

I saw. Don’t know if it worked for anyone, but that user was banned. Would you use a tutorial or an idea dealing with Flash0 from a user that was banned? I know I wouldn’t. Just do it the easier and safe way and use the dumper, unless you want to be away from the community for a while (BRICK)
hie just a question, after i mod my system to HEN-B, on system infomation still shows HEN-A , so is that normal?

No, that is not normal. You need to delete the old HEN and get the new one. You may be going to the old HEN each time you try to update to HEN-B
nno coldboot yor psp with no hen on then strart it again you cant change the name while its in hen mode.
