HEN For 6.20: 90% Homebrew support and a new video
Total_Noob surely knows how to tease us 🙂
Yesterday he updated his blog to show what seems like a fully functional HEN to me. Could the release be closer than we expect? Ok, let’s keep breathing and remember the 80/20 rule, Total_Noob says he now has 90% homebrew support, and the last 10% will probably be the most difficult.
[15/10/2010]
– ParitionCheck has a new structure, fixed (now you can load unpacked prxes), thanks to Davee!
– One patch of ModuleManager was not right, fixed (now you can run all homebrews), thanks to Davee!
– Added some systemctrl exports
It’s funny how Davee is involved in most major projects while remaining very quiet about it. He unstuck us when we started working on HBL, and apparently he’s been helping Total_Noob as well. Thanks to both of them.
By the way, Total_Noob (and many other people actually) contacted me to let me know about his newly open blog, where you will get all the fresh information for his work in progress HEN: http://total-noob.blogspot.com/ . I’ll be sure to report here as well 🙂
Great!!!! Can’t wait you guys are doing great job for both HBL and HEN
nice work davee. looks like we would have the hen by the end of the month with awesome hackers like davee helping out
wooo the way this is going we could have the hen in this months
i mean month
Nice work Davee and Total_Noob for their GREAT and SPEEDY work on the HEN , THANK YOU Wololo and anyone else who worked on Hbl, u guys kept us all sane in the psp world , even after the HEN u guys should continue working on Hbl, in conclusion…
AWSOME JOB GUYS 🙂
been following this since day one (learned a little since then lol) and once again just speechless. thank davee, totalnoob, jjs, wololo. for all your time and dedication(unpaid might i add)
ay look man. I just downloaded an app called ”PSP AiO v3.2 Homebrew.” I have a PSP 3000 with FW 6.20 and i just ran the
PSP AiO v3.2 Homebrew app from the HBL.I really do hope that this gives us the ability to boot the CFW install. Hope i helped
You can read about what it does here:
http://pspnewb.com/2010/05/psp-aio-v3-2-homebrew/
Lol, sure he knows how to tease and make us follow him…But I can’t get one thing, why Davee silent? I mean for most of the public out there; they might not even know if Davee is still devving or rather help such projects. Gosh! Anyways, this is great news. Lets hope that it will be released soon but Why fear, when Davee is here?
Cheers.
Peace.
@TiK-T0K-BOOM,
From HBL you won’t get any CFW to be flashed (I have tried all, but I was lucky to not get my PSP bricked) because, HBL doesn’t provide flash0 access. It would be only possible after a HEN is released.
yeahh….after this i can watch again utube in my psp…(n_n)
i hope 6.20 TN (hen) will release this mounth 🙂
T_N has reported that the release for his HEN would be some time in ‘November… Maybe’, but considering the progress so far it might be a definite yes on the November release.
wololo update your post 😉 :
Small update 16/10/2010
Today is the last day I work on the HEN. Next week I’ve school and I am too busy in real life, so I can’t work, maybe sometimes on weekends;)
[16/10/2010]
– Added sctrlKernelSetUserLevel, now you can run VLF homebrews!
– Added sctrlKernelSetDevkitVersion
– Cleaned up the code
@ravander what does that mean?? lol
@Nickolas,
Thats means that, T_N will be working on his HEN but not frequently as the updates were coming these days. In his edit, he mentions that he will release the HEN. But can’t say when. Might be even today.
he edited it again and now he says before christmas so it sounds like it wont really be delayed since he was going to release it around then anyways.
me likes this is this on facebook??
@sahil i meant what does this mean :
[16/10/2010]

i wonder if someone will make a CFWENABLER 6.20.
What is 80/20 rule ?
@hsmt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_rule#In_software
Basically the idea is that the last 20% of the work take 80% of the time. It’s a rule that works extremely well in software programming. When the programmer thinks they’re done (have a first very good prototype), they actually have 4 times the same amount of work remaining 🙂
@wololo: Thanks for your explaining . The informations in wikipedia are too hard for me , your explaining is easier to realize for me.
Moreover , I’m just a Taiwanese junior high student.
