That’s a bummer, hope its a easy fix and doesn’t take up to much of your time because I’m dying for a 2011 Wagic update.:)

I know I need to chill but Wagic is so freaking good!!..
Anyway good luck with getting that problem fixed.

    Thanks Wololo and team. 🙂

    I have a 6.3 psp 3001
    and is not well working
the load time is around 6 minutes the games run fine

when i tried the hello world was like 20 seconds

I have a PSP 3000 with 6.31 and am using the PSN version of HSG. Occasionally my PSP will freeze up when loading HBL, turn off, or go back to the XMB. It really isnt that bothersome cause it only takes a few seconds to get it loaded again. Still thrilled to have all these awesome homebrews 😀 Thanks again @Wololo

  4. wololo says:

@Hey-man : unless you’re exaggerating, there’s a problem with your memory stick or your psp. the dev version of HBL (which is the slowest version) should load the menu in about 1 minute. Then loading a game takes between 30s and 1 minute.
The distrib version (recommended once you get HBL to work) loads the menu in 15s, and any game in 5~10 seconds.
The hello world should be immediate when it loads, less than 5 seconds once the UMD icon appears.

  5. Vandurol says:

Remember guys, UMD is a optical disc and should take a bit longer than say loading Patapon 2 Demo from a memory stick.

  6. Teti says:

I have the 3000 psp series with 6.31 firmware and hot shots golf: open tee (US UMD). The game will start to load with the little umd icon then that dissappears and it checks the memory stick for like a second but doesn’t load HBL it just shuts off. I know for sure that I have placed the files in the right place so its not that. I have tried the hello world file also and it does the exact same thing.

  7. kadu says:

I have a slim psp 3000 ofw 6.30 and ran flawlessly with hbl umd Hot Shots Golf tested several emulators like cps1psp, cps2psp mvcpsp, daedalus, PicoDrive, snes9x, GPSP and Wagic 0.12.1 and all worked 100%. He is convinced that some emulators had entered a more slow good. I do not know what kind of problems people are having because for me it was something so simple to put on psp download.

ps: if any mistake in the words ouver excuse me, I live in Brazil

  8. Swannyman17 says:

I have the UMD of HSG:OT (Greatest Hits, if that helps. I don’t know if the UCUS is any different than the original) and hello world booted right up for me every time I tried it. As for HBL, it crashes on occasion, but that’s a given. The past 3 days, it’s loaded up first try and hasn’t froze or shut off once. (I probably just jinxed it. haha)

  9. I have PSP-2000 (fully hackable but doesn’t matter here) and when I try using the Hot Shot’s Golf exploit on ANY firmware 5.00 – 6.31, nothing happens. I couldn’t even provide memory dumps you requested a while back. I’m glad I’m not the only one here… hopefully when the problem with the PSP-3000 is resolved, my problem will be resolved as well.

    • wololo says:

@Organized_Chaos as far as I can remember, you have more issues than that, because your PSP even refuses to run PSPLink…

  10. skullguy12 says:

I have a PSP 3004 on OFW 6.31 and i don’t have any major problems. Only some occasional crashes.

  11. w7y7a7t7t says:

ok this is an unrelated question but , i’ve seen people who have the patapon exploit so the patapon game has HBL pictures when you look at in XMB, could i do this with hot shots golf?

  12. Mingo says:

Hello Wololo. Can I use HellCat Recovery Flasher with HBL to change by a former OFW or CFW? I have a OFW 5.70, HBL you’ve used?

    You’re doing a great job, I encourage.
    Thank you.

  13. DarXPloit_$a1 says:

    @Mingo : No , you can´t

@w7y7a7t7t : Try this tool : “PBP Unpacker”. google for it.

  14. Totalbalance says:

Some times it takes me a couple of times to get hbl to fully load. Will start loading then freeze at random parts. But once open works flawlessly. I should mention this doesn’t happen if Im using a memory stick – only when using a micro sd to memory stick adapter

  15. psp says:

hi wololo i have ofw 6.31 psp 3003 and hbl is really fast on it and i havent had any crashes yet

  16. psp says:

i am using everybodys golf umd

  17. biznart says:

PSP 3001 with 6.31 firmware and a greatest hits version of HSG:OT.

I had significant issues getting anything to run with the dev version of HBL, but the distrib version has worked like a charm. I get an occasional kick back to the XMB when initially loading HBL.

    Successful programs:
    NesterJ
    FCEU (not full speed, though)
    PicoDrive (some slowdown)
    Wagic
    Doom
    ScummVM
    Zombie Crisis

    Unsuccessful programs:
    Snes9xTYL (freezes on white screen)

  18. bat-race says:

psp please, i dont know what to do in hello world screen, can you help me ? (everybody golf)

  19. Henry says:

Yeah, im new to this exploit thing but i know i did everything right and when i open up hot shots golf’s UMD, it loads to a black screen then for like 5 seconds a umd icon appears loading on the left hand side of the black screen then it stop and disapearsa and for like 20 seconds the psp screen stays black and after a while it shutsdown. When i turn on the psp it starts from the psp restart screen. I put the h.bin file on the PSP root and Hello World savdata in the savedata place. I am using the US version of the game on a (PSP 3001 with update 6.31). PLease i hope this helps you out a little Wololo anybody that can see a problem with my installation of the h.bin and savedata please tell me im really excited to play homebrew programs thank you.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250697660186&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

not much a donation, but this listing specifically writes that it will come with 6.20, wagic, and gpspkai undoubtedly. I haven’t seen many ebay listings that specifically mention the firmware version, so I just thought i’d mention it.

  23. Noobie says:

I have the PSP 3003 with firmware 6.30
    Hot Shots Golf Open Tee

The only emulators that work are MAME4ALL and Picodrive (but I have yet to test the Roms)

I haven’t tested Wagic but have yet too.

I have problems such as it won’t boot the programme etc.

Some of the more advanced Roms on Mame such as “Willow” will not work.

If you need more info, let me know.

  24. JoshuaCaleb says:

As others have stated before I have been having trouble with HBL on OFW 6.30 (psp 3001) When I run the HSG: OT UMD(us) the game loads for several seconds, then the system shuts off. Any help?

  25. psp says:

JoshuaCaleb make sure you downloaded the correct files and not the files for patapon 2 click on to this link and download the HBL rev 100 (US) http://wololo.net/wagic/half-byte-loader-for-the-golf-exploit-ofw-6-306-31/
make sure you put the files in the root of your memory stck.

  29. Trysen says:

I have a psp 2001 6.31 OFW and I have had no problems what so ever with the hbl. Except a few emulators dont work but I have been able to find ones that work. So no problem there.

But I tried to set up my friends psp 1000 6.31 OFW with hbl. And I have everything set up on his memory stick the same way that I did on mine. But for some reason when we tried to load it up on his psp it didnt load up. It would just go black and crash. And I took his memory card and tried to load it up on my psp and it worked just fine. But then I noticed that our games were different. I had the greatest hits version of hot shots golf and he had the regular one.

This has to be the reason that some peoples arnt working. It dosnt have anything to do with the psp version.

I suggest that you guys look into that a little closer.

  30. steven says:

I don’t know if this is the right place to be asking questions but when I load the hot shots golf it gets to the menu with the emulators then when I click on n64 emulator it just goes black and I can still click home button and quit game but when I load snes is just say abunch of writing then goes back to the menu with the games and on gpsp is just make a weird purple blur then freezes how do I get these to work I really like playing emulators on my psp go 6.31

Waiting for the response.. Thank you

  32. Max says:

This response is a little late, but I just started using hbl. I have a Psp go, so it is through the PSN version of Hot Shots Golf. My problem is that when I boot up Hot Shots, it doesn’t always procede onto the homebrew list. And by that I mean that over 50% of the time, I have to go back to the XMB to try again. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

  33. kioshi says:

hey i have 2 copies of hsg both “non greatest hits” and im wondering why one copy will freeze up and the other will run perfectly
    any solution?

  34. andy says:

psp 3003 (EU) running 6.31 with hot shots golf open tee greatest hits UMD (US), loads umd for 5 seconds then black screen and shutdown

  35. andy says:

psp 3003 EU fw 6.31, got hot shots golf open tee greatest hits umd US (red one). cannot get hello world, tried older versions of hbl and still nothing

  36. teknophile says:

I have the PSP 3001 and fw 6.31. I have the PSN version of HSG:OT, and today I found a used UMD version.
(it doesn’t have the original game case, but would the greatest hits version say “greatest hits” on the disc?)

I don’t remember ever having an issue with HBL loading from the PSN version, but all I ever see on the UMD is a spinning disc, then a blank screen for 10 sec and then the PSP shuts off. I’ve deleted and re-installed HBL 109 including the .bin and the save hack. no luck. I think I’m just gonna look into some way to downgrade my firmware. thought I read that you could do a hex edit of an old fw to make the PSP think it was a newer version. (i.e. 6.35 instead of 5.*)

PS, I haven’t tried the H109 distrib version, or anything older. I’ll update this when I do.
