Well, although that was pretty much expected, we’re happy to celebrate the 100th revision of HBL with a major breakthrough, the possibility to play homebrews for owners of OFW 6.30 and 6.31.
Less than 2 months after Firmware 6.31 was released by Sony, J416 released a port of our beloved HBL to a new game exploit in the Japanese game “Minna no Golf Portable”. Today, less than two weeks after this release, we are releasing HBL for all known versions of the game (EU, US, JP), with also the hope that porting HBL to new game exploits will now be even easier.
Now, as I said yesterday, there are still a few bumps on the road for people who plan to enjoy homebrews on OFW 6.30 and 6.31. Although HBL has made incredible progress in the past months, adapting it to new exploits and new firmwares still requires lots of testing. People who try HBL on the golf exploits will see that it is not as stable as on the patapon exploit. You might need to give it several tries before the menu accepts to show up, some emulators will not run at full speed, etc… but as I alreay said, compare this to the first HBL release for the patapon2 exploit, and be happy that you can run much more than simple text based homebrews ![]()
There are a few other things with this release: it is not humanly possible for me to test all versions of HBL, first because I don’t have all the games, second because I don’t have all the firmwares (feel free to donate a psp on OFW 6.31, by the way). If I wanted to test only 5 homebrews for 5 minutes each on the 4 game exploits, on the 4 psp models and the 10 firmwares compatible with HBL, it would take roughly 80 hours!
I tested HBL R100 on a PSP Go 6.20 for the patapon2 exploit, on a PSP Go 6.20 for the Hot shots golf exploit, and on a psp Phat 5.50 for the everybody’s golf exploit. This is much less testing than I would usually expect. In particular, notice that I haven’t tested this on a 6.30/6.31 PSP, and that I haven’t tested the Japanese version at all. So keep this in mind when you run HBL on your PSP, and don’t hesitate to submit bug reports here or on the advancedpsp forums.
Oh, also, this might be worth mentioning, this revision brings nothing new for the patapon exploit, so people who are on 6.20 or below don’t really need to download it, except for the test of helping us to catch bugs that might have been introduced.
Enjoy, download here as usual, and apologies in advance if I missed some awful bugs in the process, you know us, this will get better with time ![]()
I want to thank people who helped for this release, especially JJS, Freddy, J416, npt, psp-hacks.com, and all the people who kindly provided memory dumps in the past days
Update: It seems that for the EU version, some people are having troubles with HBL constantly returning to the XMB. A possible solution is to do the following:
1) rename the folder hbl/libs_6xx to hbl/libs
AND
2) rename the file hbl/config/imports.config_6xx into hbl/config/imports.config
AND
3) try again
i have got a gba emulator working but it runs slow i like that a lot of things work but they are just slow and buggy but soon they will be fixed and i have no reason to complain and dosbox seams to be running good and qmixer never crashes like it did sometimes on the patapon exploit before i upgraded to 6.31
whos a big fat dawg? im a big fat dawg
I guess i’ll ask again if anyone can direct me to a tutorial on how to install this on a psp with 6.31 . I would like to upgrade to 6.31 because you can’t use remote play without the upgrade and I am going to travel on the 19th of this month and would like to access my ps3 during this time . remote play is unavailable without 6.31.
@wololo sorry im such a noob, but i can’t seem to get the save file to show up. help please?
cscash241: alright i tried what you said and its seems to be working, plus i got gba emu running 100%, just go into options turn off frame skip and disable that thing that makes it smooth ;p

Is there a way to sign on to psn without losing hbl?
Oops, I meant without upgrading my 6.20 fw.
@Andrew if you want to use the store couldn’t you use MediaGo?

hi calum to get everybodys golf you have to go to the psp essentials category and you should find it there

zombie crisis frezzes when you chosse the diffculty on everybodys golf exploit
cspsp runs well but when i go online and chosse connection it frezzes for everybodys golf exploit
gpspkai and PCEP works pretty good on my 6.31 go. I’m excited to find that I can sync up a ps3 controller and connect my go to a TV for some old school living room gaming. That said, is there any way to stretch the image on my TV? Also is it possible to enable multiplayer support with one player using the go and another using a ps3 controller?
@blodia
can I get an image of my psp on my laptop screen?
I think you need kernel accessI could just buy a cord, but my TV sucks
aw man

I found remotejoy, but you need CFW
I can has hacksbles PSP?For those of us having trouble with SNES9x_TYL: I found a different SNES emulator that works for this, uo_SNES9x. The only problem is that it seems to run pretty slow. If anyone’s interested, you can get it from Ruka’s homepage.
as of today hsgot is still not patched. just giving a heads up for newcomers.
I’ll test PicoDrive (it only works with SEGA CD ISO FILES, NOT PS1 OR PSP SO DON’T BOTHER, RETARDS) as soon as I have my Go updated and the launcher opened.
I can confirm that HSGOT hasn’t been patched as of 09/09/10 5:57pm CST. I have the US PSN version running r100 without too many problems aside from random boot crashes. PSP Go OFW 6.31 test results below.
Doom : Works great
NesterJ : Played SuperMario3 with no issues (working)
Picodrive : slowdown issues when compared to running on Patapon 2 exploit, barely playable.
SNESxtyl – Crashes upon boot to white screen. Anyone know of a SNES emu that works with decent speeds?PicoDrive does indeed work, including the save/load state function. No sound on the PSP Go, naturally, because that’s one of its limitations on the device.
Hey JT, have you tried changing some settings in PicoDrive? Set the renderer to fast or accurate? That often makes something play faster. Also try disabling each of the sound emulation functions, even though there’s no sound, they’re still running unless you stop them.
Wololoo! please try to import the hack to Hot Shots tennis! I beg youu!
Hey all. Here is a archive with some homebrews that work 100% with this exploit/hbl ————>http://www.mediafire.com/?djtxcdib0ttvqdm
uo_Snes9x for PSP 0032 works on my psp go.
I have 6.20 and used everybodys golf hbl. even starfox 2 works.
Best 6 bucks I ever spent.
Going to update to 6.31 now.
Thanks wololo and all envoled. I love reliving my younger days on my psp.
Cant wait for updates.
Also, can the eboot be changed to not have music in xmb and also the pic changed. So it looks like hbl off the xmb.
Thanks
Againfor people using the patapon 2 hbl go here: http://advancedpsp.tk/foro_es/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1200 for a modified version of the eboot that i’ve reduced to 46.9mb, and yes it still works fully.
P.S., wololo, if you know of a good tut for learning hex editing could you let me know about it, currently i’m a complete beginner and only know how to insert and delete code but am looking to try my hand at more complex hex editing.Using psp content manager you can edit the eboot and remove sound and all pics and add your own icon, it then saves the eboot to location of your choice, just copy it back to psp and it no longer looks like everybodys golf game.
Not sure about changing the text, i will try it and post if it works or not.
I love the fact you just load the game and bang, HBL menu opens up. I love this game choice for HBL. works great on 6.20.
hello i can’t run hbl r100 on my psp 3004 in ofw 6.31 for everybody’s golf my psp freeze and i’ve tried to rename folders and file
please do you have any solution ?
i ‘m a novice
