What should I hack/exploit? (I am still a noob)

Postby Nickolas » Sun May 29, 2011 6:34 pm

Ok I've been reading hacking/exploiting tutorials for quite some time now. I now feel the urge to try and hack something. Do you know of any device/program I could hack for learning purposes? I don't care if it is already hacked but please if it's been hacked before don't reavel the secret. I want to investigate it myself. Also I don't really want to hack the PSP since I don't know MIPS. Something on PC if possible. :D Thanks in advance.

VSH exploits are always fun, and believe it or not, they could be still useful.
m0skit0 has some great exploiting tutorials here at the forums, make sure you take a look at them! MIPS knowledge is a must, but it isn't as hard as it looks. There are several nice MIPS tut's on the web, don't
hesitate to check them out! I wrote a huge PSP (and MIPS) -exploiting tutorial in dutch, I'm thinking of translating it this summer.

If you really don't want to learn MIPS, you can try to hack websites without defacing them, which means that you won't harm anyone.

Good luck! :)

I don't really speak Dutch but I am willing to learn MIPS. Is it very different from x86 Assembly? Also could you please send me a link to the exploiting tutorials by m0squit0.

Depends on which savegame exploits. They're not all the same, but most of them are buffer overflows. These always looks like the same (with minor differences) and are easy to understand, so they're a good way to go. A good way to start is to take a known exploitable game, find the vulnerability and try to exploit it. Try not to cheat on you by looking at the already existing exploit, because you'd just be lying to your own self ;)

Good luck and have fun!

No, it's a big waste of time. Stick to an already known game exploit, you need to learn how to exploit first, then search for your own.
And anyway, game exploits are useless now. If that was your motiviation, then sorry.

Yes, i know that they are useless, because game exploits are only in user mode, right ?
I 'm starting with a game exploit because, as you said, they are esasy to understand .
Anyway you' re right, find a new game exploit is a waste of time, so i will try to re-exploit a game already exploited :)
