Setup NEW VITA / PSTV with Henkaku, Adrenaline, PSN Activate

Post by jhonnypolak »

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd post this up for people wanting to setup a brand new Vita TV / PS Vita to work with Henkaku, Adrenaline and PSN Activation. As there is a lot of guides out there, not all of them work 100% and you have to piece everything together which is time consuming. Not to mention the confusion about running what in what order.
This is a step-by-step all-in-one guide to get it all done as quickly as possible.

Its broken up into 4 sections:
A) Updating PSVITA/VitaTV to 3.60 firmware
B) Installing Henkaku
C) Installing required Applications / VPKs
D) Activating PSVITA/VitaTV on PSN
E) Installing Adrenaline

Required files:
Vita Shell 1.51 - https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/Vita ... s/tag/1.51
ePSP Bubble Installer 2.0 - http://wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/8440
Adrenaline Easy Installer 1.05 - https://github.com/Freakler/vita-Adrena ... /tag/v1.05

Initial Setup
*************
Turn on your PSTV / PSVITA.
Connect it to your network (WiFi or LAN cable for PSTV)
Proceed with the general setup: date / location etc ...
The important part of this process is that when you are asked if you would like to use a PSN account say YES

Once the initial setup wizard is complete and you are at the PSVITA / PSTV menu open the Settings app.
System -> Auto-Start Settings
Unselect: Download Update File for System Software

A) Updating PSVITA/VitaTV to 3.60 firmware
**********************************************
Go to Settings main menu:
Network -> Internet Connection Settings
Select your network connection -> Advanced Settings
DNS Settings -> Manual -> Primary DNS: 212.47.229.76 -> OK
Go back to Settings main menu:
System Update
Follow the prompts and ONLY SELECT OK if it says the system will update to 3.60 firmware

B) Installing Henkaku
***********************
Once you are on firmware 3.60, open up the Browser app
Navigate to: beta.henkaku.xyz
Henkaku will install automatically. Once installed you will see a molecularShell app on the main screen.
If the browser crashes, try again.

C) Installing required Applications / VPKs
********************************************
Once Henkaku is installed start the molecularShell app and select: molecule Start
Bring up the HENkaku options by:
- PSTV: Pressing OPTIONS button on the PS Controller
- PSVita: Pressing the START button
Change: Enable unsafe hombrew to: ON
Close molecularShell
Again start the molecularShell app and select: molecule Start
Start the FTP server by:
- PSTV: Pressing SHARE button on the PS Controller
- PSVita: Pressing the SELECT button

Connect to the PSTV / PSVita using your favourite FTP application using the details on the screen:
Using the FTP application, on drive: ux0 create a folder: VPKs
Path should look like this: ux0:/VPKs
Transfer the following vpks to ux0:/VPKs/
- EasyInstaller.vpk
- ePSP_Bubble_Installer_v2.0.vpk
- VitaShell.vpk

Once the files are transferred, stop the FTP server by pressing O

Install VitaShell.vpk by selecting it and pressing X
Do you want to install this package? X - Yes
"This package requests extended permissions ..." - X - Yes

Close molecularShell

You should now have a new app on the main menu: VitaShell, start it.
Just like you did previously, use VitaShell to install EasInstaller.vpk and ePSP_Bubble_installer_V2.0.vpk

Close VitaShell

You should now have 2 new apps on the main menu:
ePSP Bubble Installer
EasyInstaller

D) Activating PSVITA/VitaTV on PSN
*************************************
Start ePSP Bubble Installer
You will get a notification that your PSVITA / PSTV is not activated. Press X to activate
The PSVITA / PSTV will reboot.

Start the molecularShell app and select: Install
(this will enable the Henkaku hack again on the console because each time you restart the PSVITA / PSTV this will need to be run)
Once the hack starts and dumps you back to the main menu:
Open Settings -> Start
Select: Playstation Network
When asked to update, select: CANCEL
Then select: System Activation -> Game -> Activate
(if you get an error message try pressing the Activate button again)

Your PSVITA / PSTV is now activated.

E) Installing Adrenaline
*************************
From the main menu open ePSP Bubble Installer again.
This time it will ask you if you want to install an ePSP bubble.
Press X to install it.

PSVITA / PSTV will now restart.
Once it starts up again you will see a Hello message and BIGHEADSNOOKER bubble will install.

Once it installs enable Henkaku again by:
Start the molecularShell app and select: Install

Then from the main menu start Easy Installer
Select option: 1 Install Adrenaline eCFW
Select: NPEZ00104 - BIGHEADSNOOKER
Are you sure? YES
Wait for 661.PBP to download
Done! Press X to reboot ...
When your PSVITA/PSTV starts up again you will see an Adrenaline bubble.

And you're done.

A FEW NOTES:
**************
* Remember to "Install" Henkaku every time you restart your console.
* If you installed these hacks on the internal memory of your PSVITA/PSTV, when you insert a memory card it will ask you if you want to format it? say YES. And when it asks you to transfer internal memory content to the Memory Card, say YES

Enjoy :)

And thank you to everyone in the scene for making it possible

Cool! Thanks for this. I picked up a Vita TV last week (new, boxed) and didn't want to set it up without knowing how to do it. I'll give it a go later!
