Homebrew's Icon Makes VPK Installation Error

Post by MyLegGuy »

I'm making a homebrew. I tried to replace the icon (sce_sys/icon0.png) from the sample one from the samples, but it causes vpk installation to stop with error 0x8010113D. I looked around on Google, and that error is apparently from when you don't use pngquant on your images.

Problem is, I did use pngquant.
Here's some screenshots with the settings I used:

Here's my icon:

The worst part is, I've gotten this to work with another image using the same settings.
Here's that other image that I got working:

Both images were made in Microsoft Paint.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I used your picture in Photoshop with the SuperPNG pngquant plug in. Maybe it will make a difference

That image worked, but I'd like to know how to do it myself without Photoshop because I won't always have someone to do it for me.

I thought that's what pngquant did. The program said "PNG Type: Indexed".

===EDIT===
Alright, I kind of figured it out. The reason my image wasn't working was because it wasn't an 8 bit PNG or something.
Windows said that its bit depth was 2. I thought that less than 8 would be fine also, but apparently not. Because I have no idea how to convert PNGs to a higher bit depth, I just added a bunch of random colors so that it would have enough colors to need to be 8 bit.
