Here we mean original as in "you've written it yourself" (we don't want people to steal content from other sites) and "your tutorial hasn't been published before on other sites" (we want to be the first site where you publish your tutorial, to avoid people recycling their old stuff just to get a chance at winning a prize).
It's "ok" to take inspiration from others but there is a fine line between "inspired" and "plagiarized". In particular if someone thinks they have a new twist on some existing stuff, then it is fine. Yes, other tutorials probably exist on the web about a variety of topics, but what matters the most to me is that you are writing a tutorial with your own words and on something that you generally did yourself, even if other people have done it and/or explained it before you.
The example you give about Fire Emblem sounds like a good idea for a tutorial IMO
I went and made that Fire Emblem tutorial I was talking about. I went to go put it on the 3ds contest page, but it was locked.
If you could enter it for me, that'd be great.

This is the first thing I've written, so sorry if I did something wrong.
