And I recently picked up a PlayStation TV and was wondering if I could use the same memory card without messing with... The VITA's custom files? I'm not even sure what all over done with it to be honest :/ it's been a while.

So I have a PS VITA running an older firmware and its hacked, can't remember the details on it but I can look at it if anyone wants to know. It mostly collects dust :/

Re: Swapping memory card PS VITA and PlayStation TV (open)
I have the same setup currently and I cannot figure out how to use the same memory card on both the Vita and PSTV without it asking to be formatted when I want to switch between consoles.
I'm assuming it's possible if you are signed in to PSN on both consoles (Which means both would have to be at 3.52 in order for this to work) but currently, I'm using my PSTV for games that I've purchased on PSN and leaving the Vita at 3.51 for the upcoming rejuvenate homebrew.

Awe really, that's a bummer. I figured it would screw with the VITA with it being modified and all but I didn't expect the system would require the memory card to be reformatted. I thought they were practically the same system.

AFAIK, it works if both systems are on the same account AND the same firmware. The cards remember the highest firmware they've been used on and refuse to work on other ones.tehfogo wrote:I have the same setup currently and I cannot figure out how to use the same memory card on both the Vita and PSTV without it asking to be formatted when I want to switch between consoles.

However, the EML trick allow us to overwrite ux0:/id0.dat, which allows you to swap memory cards between systems on different firmwares - presumably on the same account

Re: Swapping memory card PS VITA and PlayStation TV (open)
well.... this EML trick only seems to be for windows and VITAs higher than 3.20. I only have access to a mac and the VITA is on 3.18 :/
maby I'll just do away with my VITA and check out the PS TV

Re: Swapping memory card PS VITA and PlayStation TV (open)
3.20 is the pstv version of 3.18. Besides, I think the EML trick probably works on everything w/ the email app - it's just that <3.20 doesn't need it to install PSM dev for unity.foxdog wrote:well.... this EML trick only seems to be for windows and VITAs higher than 3.20. Re: Swapping memory card PS VITA and PlayStation TV (open)
Ah I see. The link also has a generated .eml file as well but I can't seem to get the email app on the VITA to accept it. Just gives me a file format not supported instead of the error. I tried thunder bird on Mac and gmail/inbox from Mac and my phone with no luck.Xana wrote: 3.20 is the pstv version of 3.18. You don't attach the EML file, you open the EML file in thunderbird (or drag&drop), then send the generated email to the email on the vitafoxdog wrote:Ah I see.
