Creating our own pkgs?

Post by bigc »

so a while ago i read a thread that showed a beta pkg being installed on the vita that was encrypted with the psp aes keys and ive been thinking that since we know the psp aes keys could we hypothetically create our own pkgs and encrypt them with the psp aes keys and then install them onto the vita with the pkg installer?

I really don't know what kind of logic you are a using.

PSP AES Keys = PSP AES Keys
Ps Vita AES Keys = Ps Vita AES Keys

Beta & Debug PKGs can not be installed at a retail PS Vita.

We can not create our own PKG files.

PKG Installation doesn't mean PKG creation

Remember that pkg files have ECDSA signatures and RSA signatures in them. Since the signatures on the pkg cannot be created, the AES keys are irrelevant. pkg installation will check the signatures, not just decrypt the pkg with AES.....

sorry to ruin your plans.

Incorrect, we CAN create our own PKG's, what we CAN'T do is encrypt and sign them like official ones. We need to either obtain the encryption keys (only Sony has them) or find a kernel exploit and patch PKG installer to bypass checks.

We can encrypt the pkgs, just can't sign them.
