The only problem unit is CECH-2500's with a 1A (January-March 2011) date, as some support 3.55, yet others don't. Miniversionchecker is required to run in order to tell the difference.

Anything earlier than this model can downgrade to 3.55, anything later cannot.

Some CECH-2501B's can't though. Any 2500 should use miniversionchecker to confirm.

You should be good then. That's the model of my other PS3. Just make sure to use that firmware tool just to be sure.

will do, i may not have access to a pc untill possibly sunday though.

Edit:
I have verification from multiple sites that my model ps3 has a base firmware of 3.41 (apparently) but either way i will run the tool to make sure.

Oh and just one more question, i heard that i cant go online if i have a CFW. I mainly play my games onine with other people like my GTA crew for example, so is there any way for me to still play online?

Now take this with a grain of salt but afaik as long as you reset the PS3 and do not use homebrew anything and are running your games via disk or legit PSN downloads then you should be OK

But I dont have a PS3 and its just what I have heard so don't blame me if you try it and get banned
