I agree is not as user-friendly but I actually find the ARK method better, imagine a game or a plugin that requires pressing the start button for some time, CEF would totally kill that
On TN's eCFW you can just transfer an ISO from the savedata file to the ISO folder (assuming you have TN Menu). You can't do that on ARK.
this depends on the menu, vMenu, yMenu and pyMenu allow you to boot any iso from any folder, while with tnMenu you have to wait half an hour to copy a 1.5Gb iso, how user-friendly is that?

S1NFUL wrote:TN's eCFW uses the standard plugins system, so it should be pretty easy to follow. Ark, on the other hand, uses its own, so I guess you can say it isn't as noob-friendly.

how is having 3 different files more user-friendly than having only one file? this "might" apply to old-time psp users (and not even that since an old-time psp user can learn how to use plugins.txt without much trouble), but for a newcomer, either method is just as easy/hard

You can change the combination and duration at TN CEF.

It can stay in the exploit SGs folder, and you would have to copy it anyways if you want to replace/renew the savegame folder. Therefore it has to be copied with every eCFW, CEF and ARK.

Dont change what aint broken. It was working fine for YEARS in the scene, why change it now? PLUS, older "plugin manager HB/plugins" arent working with the "new method" but they would work with the "traditional" one. PRO Team once tried to change the plugin behavior with PRO HEN and plugins folder, instead of seplugins, and it was a failure, users did not like it.

yup i started this thread not to be a flame war against both teams hell i like both cfws but logically most people have 1 vita so like someone stated untill theres a multi-firmware loader people HAVE to use one . I just thought some people might want to list their interpretations of the pros and cons of each firmware for other people that are indifferent and wanna know which they should pick instead of forum or bug huntin .ie so it could possibly end up somethin like this FOR END USERS on here

ARK / TNC

ISO'S / ISO
BLAHBLAH / BLA

PSX / PSX
BLAH / BLAH

HB / HB
OOOOO / OOOOOO

BUGS/FREEZES BUGS

Apart from that acid it is very unfair of u just posting about ark's psx related stuff when tns could do the same (except for fooling the game which i am not so sure) months before and was even open source...
At leeeeaaast u should have mentioned tn-s psx capabilities even once..

@godshand when we discuss about features and stuff its not flame war.
Flame war occurs when we start using bad language against other fans and devs.

then why have cfw at all? ofw ain't broken
plus using "old plugin managers stop working" as an excuse is poor, lots of homebrews stopped working with newer 6.xx cfw and lots stopped working on the vita, and we got over it by either fixing them or recoding them

I think this is a great discussion. It doesn't need to be a flame war or even a heated debate. But it helps all of users to learn from each other about out experiences from using the two eCFWs. As for me right now, I have yet to even begin really testing ARK a whole lot. But based on my initial impression after installing, loading it, attempting to use it, and after reading about the pros/cons and differences between the two, I realized, that TN-C is probably better suited for my wants/needs right now.

What struck me early on, and then I went on to read the latest Wololo blog post (which reaffirmed this to me): TN-C is more stable right now. It's had three revisions, and ARK is on it's initial release. ARK may (probably will) be better for me after a future revision or two, but right now, I'm content with TN-C (warts and all). Plus TN-C has had more development put into from the scene by now, such as Guidobot's CEF Theme Swapper, and Mishka84's Multi-Menu-Loader (both of which I absolutely love).

Oh, and a dual boot eCFW loader would be as BOSS as it gets right now! Somebody wif skillz jump on that please!

And the 3 revisions were released in a few weaks but ark was made in 6 months of hard work(according to acid snake)

Who made 2 lame excuses for tn?  .
Even ur response just relies on ur plugin manager but think of all those devs who have published the standard installation method along with their plugins?
Think of the new users, or are u guys planning to port all those readme and stuff in all the plugins and all the tutorials on every ps homebrew site??

I guess u dont have any answer for this and STFU please
