Filter ideas

Postby veelk » Thu Jan 03, 2013 4:56 am

Lately, in some topics about the PS Vita's display, i've posted my thoughts on how I wish the PSP Emulator had more filter options.
Today I want to make a thread about this myself because i've made some pictures to show!
We currently have:
-Bilinear Filtering
-Color Space

None of these does it for me. I rather play games without any of them turned on.
Bilinear filter just makes things blurry and Color space makes blue look purple! That is NOT how the PSP looked.

Now, this may be a pointless topic right now because I'm assuming nothing can be done about it in the Vita yet.
But still, I've created some images to show people how much nicer the PS Vita could look while playing PSP games!
Basically, I wish to introduce 3 options:
-Real Color Correction (Makes the color look EXACTLY how they would on your computer screen or PSP)
-Vertical Scanlines
-Horizontal Scanlines

I encourage any of you who own a PS Vita to come to this thread from within the Vita browser to download these screenshots.
You have to save them in your picture gallery for them to look properly.

Tell me what you guys think, but again, these pictures must be viewed from the PS Vita and not the computer or anywhere else!
And I don't want any "Just use a PSP" comments. The PSP is too small, old, the buttons don't feel as great and the Vita is just better.

You should suggest this to Sony, they listen to their customers.

Nice renders, BTW They illustrate your points very precisely. 8-)

Really?? They would listen? I find that really hard to believe :P I count them out on day 1... but if it's true, then I would suggest it to them.
I really want these features! I'm very sure everyone would appreciate this.
I also have about 2 more ideas... i might update the post to add them.
I would explain how to best implement these in the options menu, and 1 more feature that the PSOne emulator needs.
