BEST PSP EMU SETTINGS

Postby Blacksn0w » Thu Jan 03, 2013 9:12 pm

Hi Everyone,

I just want to ask what would be the best settings for the psp emulator within the Vita. Between these Sony and March33 ISO drivers and CPU speed. Then there's these Bilinear Filtering and Color space? BTW, I have an issue with TEKKEN 6. Whenever i change the CPU speed to anything (except DEFAULT) it won't launch and it'll freeze the system. And it goes the same with Kingdom Hearths BBS but no settings will make it run. I'm on UNO exploit and i haven't tried redoing the process of reinstalling ISOs (saved game folder). Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Please enlighten me guys. Thanks everyone and continue playinG!

Well first of all, Kingdom Hearts BBS works perfectly fine on my Vita (the UNO exploit). Your iso might be corrupt, so try ripping a new one. Secondly, the isos driver work better with certain games but not so well with others, so you should google the best driver for your game. Billinear filtering is only helpful when playing 3D games as it "softens" the jagged lines when playing PSP games, and color space should be off unless you prefer the colors of the PSP screen more than the Vita. Hope that helps.

Thanks for posting back and now i got better idea of these options and i'll follow your advice with KHBBS. And how about the CPU speed? Any suggestions what to select and which ever game would have it best?

Well, from my own experience, all of my isos work perfectly with the default CPU speed. However, you could always google a game if it's having trouble running on a certain CPU speed.

Bilinear Filtering depends on your taste it's just add a filter to mask the lower resolution.
Color space again taste depends it just switches the color of the screen to better match it's original, remember PSP has a LCD screen while VITA has OLED.
CPU best is 333/166 games run better and load faster and on VITA it doesn't cut your battery life since it's emulated and it's nowhere near VITA CPU default speed, it's just those few games like Tekken 6 that has this issue that it needs to be set to default, KHBBS doesn't have this issue even in game options you can switch it in KHBBS.
UMD driver no difference both are good, same as above if a game doesn't work with one switch to the other, example "Persona" will freeze with M33 driver but works fine with Sony NP9960.

Your KHBBS copy may be corrupted try ripping new one also make sure it's not patched for lower firmware, the image has to be clean to work on VITA.

Hard to do, the change is very subtle in some game even unnoticeable, just try a few games and see for yourself.

try checking and unchecking color space on any game and stare at your screen for some seconds and you would notice a significant change in terms of graphic colors. For me it should never be checked. Like what S1NFUL said, color space depicts the screen settings of a "real" PSP and thanks foxsevent for informing us that CPU speed in emulator won't affect PSV's battery's life. I always choose 333/166 to all my games like GOW:Ghost of Sparta, 2K13, MGS PW, DISSIDIA012, CRISIS CORE Burnout Legends and they're all awesome!

When in TN-C menu, press square to bring up the settings menu, from there you can change the CPU and BUS clock speeds.
