Extracting purchased games to .ISO for backup purposes

Extracting purchased games to .ISO for backup purposes

Postby melka_ashur » Thu Jan 03, 2013 5:15 pm

Hey everyone. I just now used the UNO exploit successfully and I was wondering, is it possible to extract/transfer the .ISO files of purchased game (running from their card in my Vita) to my PC. CMA includes an option to transfer applications, and even shows the games that I have, but when I do so, I just get a folder with a bunch of random files and no .ISO file. Also i think that the size of the game in CMA when I ant to transfer it cannot be right, since most vita games are 2gb +.

Please let me know if there is another way to do this that I am missing. Thank You!

I have actually done this before.
1. Download ISO Tool from here
2. Dump your game from your Vita.
3. Get FTP from here
4. Connect your Vita to your computer via FTP
5. Browse your Vita and find your dump (I can't remember where exactly it is)
6. Copy the ISO to your computer.
7. Copy the ISO to your PSP.
8. Relax and enjoy!

Thanks for your time SMOKE. Do these tools work with Vita as well? Or just PSP. Their interface seems to be just for PSP. And the "dumping" process seems a lil confusing.

It works with the Vita too.

Oh ok. Are there any tutorials online of how to use the ISO tool? Can you provide a link to some instructions or maybe a youtube video that already exists? When I open the rar file for the program there are a bunch of folders and files, but I don't see an .exe to run a program that would lead me through the dumping process. So it appears it may be a bit more complicated.

Yes, but your in a PSP Emulator. That's why it works.
Also, purchased PSN PSP games are stored in that PSP Emulator on your Vita.

Ok so since you guys told me it can be run as homebrew I understand much better. I am still having problems dumping the game however, I keep getting messages in japanese, which I don't know what they are saying. Perhaps it is also because I am using it on my Vita. Does the iso tool only dump from PSP UMDs? Or does it also work with Vita gamecards?
