PPSSPP a new PSP emu for android!!

Post by Salahkun »
PPSSPP is an open source project, licensed under the GPL 2.0. Anyone is welcome to contribute their improvements to the code, and the hope is that over time this will resolve the compatibility problem.
Fast and portable
PPSSPP is written in C++, and translates PSP CPU instructions directly into optimized x86, x64 and (soon) ARM machine code, using an efficient JIT compiler.

PPSSPP can thus run on quite low-spec hardware, including stronger Android phones and tablets, as long as there’s support for OpenGL ES 2.0.
I'm guessing EBOOT.PBP and the site says not very many games, anyway.

Don't even bother trying. At this stage, this emulator is worthless. It WON'T run anything. The 2 games that it can run is unplayable anyway.

Still, it's pretty amazing that you can do this on phones nowdays.

Only a couple of years back, phones were like this:

Haha I still remember that. Years ago I remembered taking it out of my pocket and I instantly became the coolest guy in class lol.

I've been waiting for this...

Don't you guys understand that this is awesome? A short while ago, good NDS emulators came out and now already a PSP one? And it's only in release 0.2 so yeah. I'm still amazed though, PSP.

Well, considering how new this emulator is, it is not surprising that it doesn't work so well yet.

That being said, I am glad to see a native code emulator for the PSP, since the only PSP emulator I have seen that is good at all was JPCSP, and I had low hopes for the performance on that to ever be great (since the Java recompiler is so slow.)

Yeah, the concept behind this project is absolutely amazing - I just hope that the execution is good. In the meantime, Android users already have access to a range of emulators for systems like the N64, PS1, GB, GBC, GBA, Genesis, SNES, NES and more :D
