There's a slim glimmer of hope. In an interview, the youth who started the game stated that "licensing issues" kept it being on other systems, but that other markets where free games are easy such as Linux and the iOS were an option. Some of the other Capcom guys confirmed that, and reading between the lines I think that basically means places where you don't have to worry about paying for server space or downloads are the options they're looking at.

Still, I think the Vita would be a great platform to have the game on. I'm not personally thrilled about playing it on my laptop; I'd rather a console or dedicated gaming handheld. Still, the creation of the game is a nice gesture on Capcom's part. I wonder what would have happened if they hadn't happened upon this fan project...

i see. thanks for the info. i'm still crossing my fingers! yeah this would be suitable for a console rather pc. and nice if really on ps vita too!.
if capcom would release this including all other nes megaman games, i would gladly pay.

I'm in the same boat! As a long time Mega Man fan, I'm yearning for something new. I recently had a chance to pick up the Mega Man X Collection for Gamecube, so that's a definite plus, but I'm itching for something new. Mega Man Legends 3 was one of the reasons I bought my 3DS, so I'm really bummed out that Capcom decided not to release it in the end.

i remember the days when megaman battlenetwork on gba is damn addictive, plus the story lines are captivating
