Has looking at screens killed your eye sight?

I used to play a LOT of games, but still my eyesight never got bad.

But yes, whenever I feel stress on my eyes I take a break and wash them with cold water!

I rarely feel stress in my eyes, but I also take breaks when it happens, then I'm just fine

Our eyes by nature are not made to look at a 2D thing so close. We're mainly predators and as such our eyes are made to look at preys: medium distances and with layers of varying depth. That's why today a lot of people has sighting problems. Our eyes were not made for the modern life style.

Not just 2D, m0skit0, pretty much anything we stare at too long that is too close to us can hurt our eyesight.

I basically live infront of a pc, I wonder why I don't require to wear spectacles yet... Same as Codestorm, I rarely feel any stress.

All of my friend need to wear one just because they used to watch TV a lot when they were younger.

good grief...i was using a computer since i was 2 years old! never get eye stress, eyesight not messed up. what more is i could play for 24h straight and not get stress in the eyes.

I'm jealous...my max is about 4-5 hours before my eyes start to get tired (usually just taking a break for 20-30 minutes clears it though)

Since I got a N64 my eyes have been shit, and I've used screens alot since then but recently I've been playing a ton of Xbox and I would blame it for my eyes as they've been increasingly bad since then.

Since I was a baby, i used to wear glass for a very very very light hypermetropie problem and strabism, but it was mainly for strabism. I am always in front of screen, at least over 15 hour per day, usually 8 hour in a row with no problem. Even better, since 3 year, they said me to stop wearing glass. So no, computer had no effect on my vision.

However, an important factor is the screen quality. Cheap screen will kill your eye. Good high quality screen has extra protection for eye, use better technology for no aggressive lighy...

yes probably because i sometimes would play in a not so well lit room or simply no lights at all
