Totally agree with you, and my mysterious friend agrees too ;)

I wonder up to how many non public kernel exploits have already been found indeed .. if finding one or two requires reversing the entire fw because they've become so rare, then it really looks creepy :|
I don't have enough time to reverse the entire fw xD maybe uOFW would help

I am thinking people like Davee, Virtuous Flame, or some1, have reversed major parts of the firmware by now (maybe not the biggest libraries though...)... for all I know, for them looking for exploits now means finding bugs in actual C code

At least you can filter out: I think things like paf.prx cannot be accessed from games, so I would assume this is not where these people are looking for exploits.
I have a few US PSN codes to sell for a reasonable price (cheaper than pcgamesupply). PM me if interested, 1st come 1st serve basis..

It would be awesome to find a browser exploit like in the iphone had a while back, but i doubt this will happen in the vita.

What about the vita emulator? Like what firmware supposedely runs on? Latest psp firmware? Wouldnt it be the same as trying to crack latest psp firmware? Like if a game can get acces to kernel thru an exploit in the current psp firmware it should work on vita psp emulator right???

To an extent, you are correct. Yes, the PSP emu is based on the latest firmware, which makes sense too, but this doesn't mean it has to be exactly the same. It can easily have some exploits patched. Also, there is no debugger for the Vita, like we can use PSPLink on the PSP, so developing the exploit can be more difficult as well.

Sony is always to slow or lazy to get anything done besides stopping exploit, that is the only they do now a days, patched ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 due to alternate costume glitch yet they don't fix the glitches in the game such greedy company always forcing us to buy dlc and crap. Hopefully PS Vita will be hack for psp iso and such tried of Sony lazy ass excuses blaming piracy for poor sales numbers.

I agree, one of the major reasons of why the Vita is not doing well in Japan is due to Sony not producing content and launching updates which the customers want.
If you look away from that Monster Hunter for the Vita along with some other game announcements as well as released exlusives and homebrew would seriously boost sales, Sony is doing a lot that goes against what would be considered beneficial for the Vita.

Steady monthly or weekly updates would boost some popularity due to that users don't feel neglected by Sony, as opposed to their current "work on a big firmware update and keep some things just in case someone exploits more games for hacking the device to justify firmware updates" update plan.

But one thing is for sure; E3 will either make or break the PS Vita from a business perspective.

It's no secret that Sony is holding back announcements about the Vita for E3, but if they don't announce something like Monster Hunter or God of War for it- to be more direct, some triple A titles-- they will lose customers.
Combining it with a price cut they will gain more customers because of putting their money where it's worth, getting great software for it and lowering the price of the expensive console.

Though let's hope they provide something for those whom already purchased a Vita-- If they make a price cut, like Nintendo did for the 3DS.

Also I'm terrible sorry for not going on topic here, I hope it is alright regardless.

In any case great development!

I guess that would explain why I never had any issues with Nitrous Oxide?
