For the forty seventh billion time, yes it is technically possible.

It won't be around anytime soon, if ever, until the inner workings of the Vita firmware is better understood.
Unless some awesome programmer is out there coding one under the PSS beta, you're out of luck for a good while.

 ouch!

There was a proof of concept attempt for the PSP slim a couple of years ago, but it ran super-incredibly slow. The PC emulator requires a decent video card with the latest direct X installed, so it would be a long shot for the Vita methinks.

I don't mean to be a negative nancy, but seriously, it will never happen. Ever.

I don't know what a "flash 0 emulator" is and I honestly don't believe "the dude" that is playing ps1 games will release his exploit.

Until Sony releases the ps1 classics support, it won't come.

The exploit required to play the ps1 games on the Vita is not going to be released to the public anytime soon, if ever.

Edit: Also, if you read anything on the flash0 rather than spouting nonsense, you'd have at least read wololo's blog post on it. You know, the one from four days ago?
And I quote, "Nevertheless, from the end user’s point of view, this brings absolutely nothing." -wololo

It wasn't that bad... it ran a pretty good 15fps on 3d games ( like powerstone ) and 30fps on menus... now ofcourse that changed with different games but it was standable and quite amazing what could be done on a psp.

As for if it is possible... probably.... nulldc would be where you want to look ( and I know a arm port for the beagle board was in progress but dont know the status of it now )

Like everyone else has said, the only way it'll happen is if the vita gets fully cracked and ( my guess ) we have some sort of sdk to go off of ( note: NOT PSS )

Just my $0.02 on the matter...

I don't think it will support a lot of games IF its gonna happen. But GameCube and PS2 were kinda alike, so it is not something easy to create

Fixed. I really don't see Sony releasing ps1 classic support. As much as I like the Vita, Sony isn't exactly giving it the attention it deserves.

Anyways, on topic, while a Dreamcast emulator would be neat, I'm not sure if it will come to fruition :/
