[HELP] Problem with WIFI on Win7

Postby stevealexanderames » Mon Apr 30, 2012 5:19 pm

I have a "little" problem with the space between icons on desktop with windows 7... i freshly installed it on my netbook, but icons lines were too far from each other so i tried editing the values with regedit (7 don't have the option with right click -> desktop etc.)
this is how the desktop looks like

and these the values in regedit

any suggestion about the values to have back a normal layout? thanks

Here are my values, maybe that would help! ;)
Code: Select all
CaptionHeight -330
CaptionWidth -330
IconSpacing -1125
IconVertical Spacing -1125

Other values are alright. It can be very dangerous to mess with regedit you know! :?

if you hold "Ctrl" and then use the mouse wheel scroll down (and up) the icons will automatically re-size themselves

the problem is changed  i'm too lazy to open another topic so here we are

i can't connect properly with WiFi with this same netbook :(

i mean, the wireless connection to my wifi modem works very well using XP on it (full signal near the modem, 4/5 in my room) but with Win7 i have 4/5 near the modem and in my room only 1/5 and it keeps disconnecting, but the settings and the hardware are the same

i don't understand why, i download the drivers from the same productor site and this problem is not happening on XP...

you're right  but people must carry on with the stuff fate gives them, or not?

i just made an experiment with a live usb of ubuntu 11.10 with both built-in and external wifi drivers, the result is even worse than with seven  i gotta find a way to solve the problem on 7...

Are you sure your laptop was got Windows 7 drivers? (o.O) Or you just downloaded something else? Anyways, try turning WiFi off and then again on in Device Manager and see if it runs fine this time! ;)

now i'm using the wireless broadcom driver i downloaded from acer.com for my pc, but you know what? just when i finished installing seven, the pc was using a "built-in" driver for wifi before i updated it and i think that was working a bit better than this :?
