6.60 has native game support (you don't have to use a version.txt file to run every game like you do on all firmware's prior to 6.60), I personally like 6.20 better than the other firmwares because I have a lot more CTF themes working flawlessly on 6.20 and I have all of the plugins that I like and use on a regular basis working flawlessly for 6.20.

It's really your choice though, if you want to update then update, just be careful if you decide to downgrade, some people have reported bricks after using downgraders. (IMHO it's not worth the risk trying a downgrader)

I just purchased a second PSP off of ebay, and it's system software is 6.20 PRO-BB.

I again attempted to follow the steps in the link I posted earlier, and I still can't find a way to run the UPDATE that the link tells me to.

Also, I extracted the Fast Recovery and ProUpdate files to the memory stick, and now the only item on the menu says "Corrupted Data".

Help?

Do you have PRO UPDATE and Fast Recovery in the PSP/GAME folder of your memory stick? (Don't put them in another folder inside of the /GAME folder)

No I didn't at the time. I moved them to the correct spot.

Running PRO Update gives me this message:

"Sorry this program doesn't support your FW 0x06020010"

I feel like a total dumbass since I can't get such a seemingly simple task to work.

EDIT: As I mentioned before, I am getting hung up on the step that says: "run the update from the PSP menu". I have the UPDATE folder in the PSP folder, but I don't have a "PSP" menu, and the only two files to run when I select the memory card are PRO Update and FastRecovery, neither of which do anything.

If anyone has time to walk me through this step-by-step, I would be most appreciative.

I appreciate it!

I don't have any menu called "XMB". Is there a particular place I should be looking?

Oh. I've never head the term XMB before, so I had no idea what it was.

My main screen has: Settings, Extras, Photo, Music, Video, Game, Network, Playstation Network.

Is what I'm looking for in one of those?

first did you put "PROUPDATE" in PSP folder and then in the GAME folder ?

if so then go to "Game" in the XMB then press "X" and start the PRO Update

Yes

I can't just select "Game". I have to pick from Game Sharing, Saved Data Utility, and Memory Stick.

@Chessjerk - Since your PSP is already on 6.20PRO-B8 I suggest you stay on that firmware and just update to 6.20PRO-B10f1. That way you'll be on the same firmware running the same (L)CFW that I am (on my 4g), it will be easier for me to set you up with specific plugins, CTF's etc in the future as I can just send you the exact ones that I have and I'll know they'll work on your PSP.

You can get 6.20PRO-B10f1 here - http://code.google.com/p/procfw/downloa ... 0.fix1.rar

Then all you'll have to do is turn off your PSP completely and then turn it back on (then it will be in OFW) and run the 6.20 PRO UPDATE (which has to be in ms0:/PSP/GAME folder)

PM me if this is what you decide you want to do.
