i wouldn't entirely count on that. in my experience, wine doesn't detect usb devices, except for perhaps a usb controller (which somehow makes your computer think there are 2 controllers, one for linux, one for wine, and wine detects both). unless you somehow edit winecfg to detect them, which looks like a headache to me. and just because some says "try it in wine" doesn't necessarily mean the program will work. afaik, wine is the only way to get any windows native program to run under linux, and some programs simply refuse to work, whether for no inexplicable reason, or that it requires a .net framework to be installed, which i can't get anything higher than .net 1.0 to work from winetricks. to me, your best bet would be to run a windows OS under virtualbox
