Exactly. The server helps in finding other psp players and manages gaming groups / virtual networks.

From there the psps know were in the world all the players are and send data directly to each other.

If I remember correctly, the PSP-1000 isn't supported due to it's 32mb RAM, right? If so, I may just get a PSP-3000 or PSP Go! just so I can use this PRO Online. Poor PSP-1000's.
PSP 1000 32GB PRO-HG Duo TA-082 6.60 CFW ME 1.8 and (L)CFW PRO-C fix3 + TM and DDC v8/v9 Mod
PSP 1000 8GB PRO-HG Duo TA-079 5.00 CFW M33-6 + Fix, TM and DDC v8/v9 Mod
PS Vita 32GB 3g + Wi-fi PCH-1103 2.02 OFW ARK eCFW

Yeah. 1000 not supported. It simply isn't possible.
Oh and todays changelog... fixed the termination crash bug! :D
The only game I ever got running on 1000 online was God Eater (Japanese Original) - all other games dont leave enough memory for online code.
For God Eater Burst it was enough memory to get the lobby online... but when the real game started the thing runs out of memory and loops in the loading screen forever so yeah...

Can't say I didn't try getting it working on 1000...

Edit: Looking for a HUD-Programmer for PRO Online.

Alright! Termination Bugfix made Pangya work!

Confirmed working...

God Eater
God Eater Burst
Pangya Fantasy Golf

And how the design for the HUD is done... isnt my business...
I do the logical code beneath the GUI layer.

What the API offers huh... thats a better question I can relate to.

The HUD should be simple, view-only and react to the home button...
While the home button is pressed it should show the following data on TOP of the game without pausing the game though...

  • A colored orb, showing the connection status (red = offline, yellow = connecting / limited connection, green = connected).
  • The server ip.
  • The game product code (ULUS12345, etc).
  • The network group name (up to 8 characters).
  • Number of players you are connected to.

The real problem here might be getting the display flickerfree...

The HUD is totally optional and not necessary anyway as there currently is not a single option coded into pro online that really needs a interaction from the user...
However I know from previous betatests of pro online that people are often confused whether their setup is okay or not...

So a minimal HUD displaying the libraries current status and some information would be very helpful... both I and VF have worked out some possible solutions to the problem...

Me, trying it via framebuffer hooks and ge-hooks... and VF trying to do it via impose framebuffer manipulation (official sony home menu hacks).

Both of our solutions arent really the best... mine requires a lot of extra code which isn't too nice looking... and the one from VF is executed in a interrupt disabled state (sony did a awful job coding it), making complex drawings on screen impossible... most of the time the thing dies because the interrupt watchdog bites us...

So yeah... potential HUD coders wanted, you guys got a good idea how to overlay the GUI properly then please go ahead and enlighten us.
