The technical limitation is unfortunate, however I did not mind the server based setup for God Eater, so I'm still very excited about this release. Here's hoping you find a low cost, efficient way to apply your hard work thus far!

Keep your ambition and best of luck!

I hope we can run our own servers.

As i thought.
In My opinion , due to the cost of the server, it would he better to have the server only For some games.
Let us know What you think about, and feel free to send me a pm when you want to test your code.
I think all psp hacking forum interested should have a Donate banner For this project

I've talked to Wololo about this already as there has to be a good way about getting this thing to the people...
As with all my work - it will be GPLv3 licensed which means yes - you can easily host your own server...

However this aint the idea behind this... if we do this the server way... it should be on one big one for every region... because otherwise we have the same problem tunneling programs have... finding people that join you.

Once this thing is running a donation drive to keep it up sure is welcome, as it will be our own little alternative to PSN & co.
But for starters, it should be safe for a while as both Wololo and I will be contributing our own server machines for this cause.

Im currently rewriting my server software to use a 3-pass-search for player matching... instead of my old (bad...) 1-pass search...
This will maximize the server response times and minimize the server cpu time... making the server footprint quite small.

But its late and I'm sleepy. So I will call it a day...
For tomorrow... I hope to finish the server and start porting the client modules to connect to it instead of using a p2p friend search.

If all goes right its back to betatesting the coming weekend... hope to see you on there again kakarotto.
Of course everyone else with configured DMZ and GE-Burst is welcome to give it a testrun then.

A little status update again...

The server is more or less done now, it supports Adhoc Mode Peer Matching aswell as Scan-Emulation for Virtual Networks - back to the roots it is here...

On the clientside a lot of things are currently changing... but its not quite complete just yet... I'm coding on it as I write this here... and bit by bit im removing the P2P code again... replacing it with a serverfriendly version.

It's going slowly but I'm fixing the files up bit by bit... the next version wont need the friendlist.txt file anymore, thus no manual IP settings anymore (except for the server ip in server.txt).

The server will take care of sorting players into different game groups.

that's nice. GodOfWar2 and i jump into the irc once in a while to see if there's any activity, so we (or at least i) will be waiting on there if we can make the plans for today or tomorrow

Yeah. Just a few minutes ago I finished work on the new client, giving it a testrun with Codestation right now.

Edit: Status Update after todays tests... *ahem*

Server-based Peer-Finding works, but we still have timeout issues, my best guess as to why this happens is because I didn't properly mutex lock the network layer for multi thread access...
I will fix that tomorrow and do some more tests then. :D
