Since not all songs can be done as straightforward as this one, so i am thinking between don't touching this part or just leave it to one of you to reword the lines a little so it can fit.

Ooooohhhh. I think I love it! I'd be willing to go over the song lyrics and re-word them, definitely! I also volunteer myself as a proofreader, since I know full well I tend to get really picky about that kind of thing sometimes....

On a somewhat related note, how are you recording these vids from the PSP? (and are you doing the still screencaps with your prxshot plugin? I've been fiddling with it, but it doesn't seem to like me yet....)

It was hard but i managed to get ALL the offsets for the lyrics: https://github.com/codestation/prxpatch/blob/master/divapatch/divaext_embedded.txt
I know that most of the songs can fit with 50 chars per line but i have doubts with the cosMo songs, if you can re-word these to fit it would be awesome. Translation isn't required since you can find tons of already translated lyrics for every song on internet so all the work is copy&paste the matching lines, then adapt the lines who are too long.

I used remotejoy then recorded the screen with ffmpeg. Sadly remotejoy sucks on 6.60 (see those mini lags in the video, i will downgrade to 6.20 to see if it works better).

I'll give one of the cosMos ones a crack during the week (probably "Hatsune Miku no shoushitsu"), but don't expect it to be good :D (translating sentances is one thing, lyrics are another-especially this song!) :lol:

EDIT: my bad, didn't read that bit... too late to notice :roll: :lol:

Hello, (sorry for my bad english, I use google translator)

I participe to the French translation of Miku Extend (and I am the author of the French translation of Project DIVA 2nd), and recently I changed the font for menu of the game to add accents "é" "è" "à" "ê ", if ever other translators want to use it, here is the file: http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/89/font12dot01.png
(I replaced some Japanese characters (taking a single byte) as follows:
ェ = é
ォ = è
ャ = à
ュ = ê
)

If other translators need to add characters into the font of the game, I have some explanations to avoid this: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/921/pic0026.png or this http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5571/pic0030.png

I have not changed the font of PV, but it happens anyway, if we do not do certain things:

The game uses the color palette information from font12dot_01.png, and does not check the colors informations from font01.png (so the game use the palette from font12dot_01.png again).
The problem is that often when we modify the PNG with Paint.NET or any other software, it changes the palette, and thus the display of other fonts.
So a few tips:
posterize your font12dot_01.png modified (to reduce the number of color).
use "OptiPNG" ( http://optipng.sourceforge.net/ ) or "PNGOUT" ( http://advsys.net/ken/utils.htm ) to save your file by taking the least amount of space (pngout is more effective).
Use "TweakPNG" ( http://entropymine.com/jason/tweakpng/ ) (Open two TweakPNG window, one with the original png, the other with your edited png) to make your file much closer to the original. (edit the header, split the "IDAT" and especially edit palette and alpha to make it identical to the original).

By the way, the last two values color / alpha of the palette match the background behind the characters and the color of the letters themselves.

I hope these explanations will help some translators :D .

Like this?

The problem is that not all songs can have it because the character limit, also there is the issue that the romaji cannot be re-worded :?

EDIT: tried to convert all the lyrics to romaji but got stuck with StargazeR, specifically this line:

Code: Select all
0x08C580A1 眺めてた零れる幾千の旋律を残さず重ねて
romaji:    nagameteta koboreru ikusen no senritsu o nokosazu kasanete
english:   I gather all the thousand overflowing melodies I've gazing at

Both romaji and english go past 50 chars, any ideas? i really want to translate those lyrics but if the result is too problematic then i will leave them untouched.

I can't wait for the next patch update, I suggest that you delete the word overflowing, even without this word, will keep the context, my english is bad, so I have no comment for the convertion to romaji XD

How about one of these?

I gather the thousand overflowing songs I watch
I gather all the thousand melodies I've gazed on
I gather the myriad melodies I've been gazing on

They'd all fit in the spirit of it. :)

As for the romaji, maybe some of it could be moved to another line?

Sadly this would ruin the experience for those who use romaji to sing with the PV. I will not drop the romaji at this point since i have done the first 7 songs on the list (including Gekishou/Shoushitsu) so maybe i'll use the _JK_ suggestion and truncate the very long lines.
