New to the 3DS

Hey

I just got a new 3ds xl, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where to get started if I want to hack it (if its even hackable atm), also if anyone could mention all the benefits of hacking it, I'm assuming you can play/download games for free if you do).

The only reason I'm not doing a google search myself (not that I haven't tried) is to avoid and false info or scams.

I have Ver 10.4.0-29U, If it's not hackable, do you think I should wait or just update to atleast be able to access the store?

first, downgrade to 9.2 wololo.net/2016/03/09/3ds-downgrade-10-410-510-6-now-possible/
warning, high chance of brick your device. so be sure to read all the steps before attempt to downgrade (and look of other site for additional info)

then use browserhax to run homebrew launcher https://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php
next install homemenuhax to get access to homebrew launcher on boot https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax
your last step is to choose which cfw you want to use and setup emunand (so you can update the emunand to the latest firmware and have access to eshop)

Now I'm sort of lost trying to install menuhax, I'm at the website https://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php but I'm not sure how to follow the instructions. I don't have a "initialize save data" option. I'm running 10.4 on the N3ds xl.

Launch the browser, open the browser settings, then scroll down until you see the initialize savedata or clear all savedata option.

Thanks to everyone that replied to my comment.

I got my n3ds downgraded, now it's just a matter of installing cfw and whatnot which I'll do once I get a bigger SD Card. That youtube video really helped btw, it wasn't exactly what I needed to do, but it helped on some parts that were unclear on online text tutorials.
