3DS Region Lock

I talked to a customer service rep today at nintendo and i was asking, like everyone else today, if the majoras mask 3ds would be available again soon, and i had mentioned I bought the system on the UK amazon store but since nintendo systems are region locked, i would not be able to play my games on it, and he had said that you can change the region in the profile settings, i checked my current 3ds (persona q version) and saw i was able to but couldnt find the JP region to test if it meant i could play my JP region Persona Q and not have to worry about not being able to play the NA region games I have like the Shin Megami Tensei series (the JP limited edition had more things i liked so i imported it, the 3ds was bought at local gamestop) so I was wondering if anyone could possibly test if changing the region in the settings meant playing games from other regions and not just changing what store you use, if not then I have a system specifically for one game and one game only which is Majora's Mask (comes preinstalled) and would thus make this a colelctors item only of sorts that i jsut sit on a shelf to display and never use since I already have the NA version of the game. you can only change the eshop region. For playing out-of-region cartridge games you have to use regionthree, but it doesn't work on New 3ds/3ds xl. Or you can use gateway to play out-of-region games though it is a gray zone.

Alrgiht...I guess maybe i will just have to wait for nintendo to remove region locking, they said they were thinking of removing it in the future so hopefully that happens...its *** i wont be able to play my games on the new 3ds simply because america was sold out of the dang thing but uk was not, same for jp i can still go buy it, i also missed that zelda combo yesterday on gamestop website >.< i want that dang figure!
