Sky3DS UK Seller

Post by xSASxZaros » Sun Dec 14, 2014 5:06 pm

Hi guys, any idea where I could buy the new blue button one from a UK seller?

It would be great if there was a PayPal payments option as I am quite dubious when it comes to using my Visa card on those kinds of websites.

Thanks very much guys.

P.S. On a side note, I'm also looking for a Gateway, so if anyone knows a site for that too, it would be great. I've looked on the reseller list on gateways website but teensy will says that gateway is 1 game per SD card and stuff so it seems a little.. Strange.

Regards!

Wait, who told you that? Gateway has multi-rom support and it is just a simple "drag and drop" roms unto the root of the micro sd. Get a Gateway. It's cheaper and all you have to do is wait til the new FW comes out to support your system (which shouldn't be too long). If your system is 9.3 or above, stick with sky3ds.

Sorry I didn't explain very well I know that gateway has multirom now but one of the 'official resellers' for gateway for the UK is teensy, and their website still says that gateway are only 1 rom per SD and stuff, so that makes me not want to buy from them. Lol. :P

I have 1 3DS and 1 3DS XL which are both on 9.2, so I need a gateway for them.

But I also have a new 3DS XL LL thing, the one with the c stick, I imported it from Australia so it's pal, it is on 9.0 at the moment, unfortunately I did not get it in time before 9.3 came out, so now I can't update it to 9.3/4.. :( :(

So my thinking is that I update this new one to the latest, 9.4, and buy a Sky3DS, so then I have at least 1 console on the newest firmware, but can still use a flashcard.

Do we have any info on if the new gateway (for 9.0-9.2) will allow nand backup and/or latest emunand? If it will, I'd keep my newest console on 9.0 till gateway comes out..

Regards!

I follow maxconsole so I'm sure with the new FW update it will allow you to backup your nand.

EDIT: The Gateway Team just released a quick update. GW FW 2.7 Omega. It's completely useless for us end users but it allows those on FW 4.0-4.5 to use emunand on the latest FW 9.4. For those of us still waiting on the 9.0-9.2 support, this is what they had to say.

"We also want to inform our users that we are still working on native support for sysnand 9.0 – 9.2, so please be patient until we are ready to release! We try to deliver a smooth experience for our users and this takes time to perfect! We also inform our users that they MUST NOT UPDATE SYSNAND TO 9.3 OR ABOVE, because we will not be able to support entry to those sysnand versions any time soon. If you are wondering what native support we will bring for lower than sysnand 9.0, we can tell that after 9.0-9.2 we will start with 8.0-8.1 and gradually work our way down with support for even lower sysnand firmware versions."

Ah right thanks very much. Is it worth me waiting for gateway just to backup my new 3ds XL LL things NAND? Or should I just say bugger it and update it to 9.4 so I can use the eshop and stuff and just buy a Sky3DS?

It's worth waiting for Gateway. You should backup your nand for all your systems so that way when you update, you have a FW to go back to. If you're 100% sure that your gonna use your New 3DS XL LL for Gateway in the future, I highly recommend waiting for the GW FW release before updating to 9.4. For the NEW 3DS, you just need to backup the nand. After that, you can save the file in a safe place on your computer and freely update to the latest FW. There is a possibility that Gateway might release a new flashcard just for the New 3DS (since most of the new 3ds games won't run on original 3ds systems), sometime in the future, so backing up that nand is extremely crucial for future flashcarts.

Thanks for the advice man, I think I will put updating on hold. It I were to backup the NAND for all my consoles, how do I go about flashing the old NAND back over any new updates I do? - Would I need to do a hardware mod and solder wires to those 4 points to flash it?

You're exactly right. Right now that's the only method that is available at the moment. It kinda sucks because unless you have hardware experience, you'll have to find someone who does, open up your 3ds and desolder a few points in order to dump your nand back into the system. It's risky and should be used as a last resort. Dumping the nand to your SD Card is easy, but putting it back in is difficult.

Sky3DS now has no game limit. It's actually a lot easier than Gateway. I would recommend it. I have one and love it!

True, but it's still region locked tho. If it wasn't for Gateway, I would've had sky3ds right now. Smh, I hate the wait but it''ll all be worth it in the end
