there are, trust me there are/were plenty of people working on both the dsi and 3ds. But as we can tell, the dsi is pretty rock solid, when it comes to security sadly
even today its not hacked, we have like a couple dsiware hacks (which i managed to miss out on every one! ninja releases would of been nice

except for the My Healthy Cooking coach dsi enhanced game exploit.) but thats about it! I've heard that some of these dsiware exploits do still work on 3ds, but thats about all your going to get out of 3DS for now.
According to nintendo their protection is like a series of firewalls, so when you get past one you still have like 5 more behind it so your often hitting a dead end...
Honestly i think it sucks that they spent so much of their time on security, when imho thats the very thing that made the wii NOT suck!
and if they're concerned about piracy/cheaters online, that typa thing, a simple Nintendo account wouldnt hurt and have a system for users to report other accounts, send messages and what not. They could be doing a lot more, same thing with $ony, if they sent less of their time fighting "hackers" when they should be embracing them. like Android and the Ouya team.
But idk thats my take on it, maybe some miracle breakthrough was made, and its just being held on to till it can mature, and strike with force!
lol im optimistic, it could happen.
