3DS firmware 4.x help

Hi Ok other than my collection of PSPs I have a 3DS still on firmware 4.x Can anyone here guide me to enabling some form of homebrew on this device?

You have three "sensible" options:

1. Buy a DS mode card that support your FW version, or buy a game with the update version required on cartridge and create / run some of the newer homebrew. Giving money to cartridge vampires.

2. Buy a game with 4.1 through 4.5 update on cartridge, update, buy a 3DS mode card (Gateway) and create / run some of the older homebrew. Giving money to cartridge vampires.

3. Wait patiently just a little bit longer for Smealum to release his new ssspwn work and run homebrew.

3 being the preference.

I only really use my 3DS the odd time for a few titles that I had to have that Sony doesnt offer. Just thought it would be cool to be able to see some homebrew on it too.

Hello friend get pokemon gates to infinity and make sure the 3 ds is not connected to wifi. Just update the system through the game card which is 4.5
