And after decrypting you could load them in a 3DS without exploit? Or am I seeing it wrong and can you only like extract graphics, audio etc.?

Only extract graphics audio etc... As you say. Plus you can mod games like this pretty easily.
Also the 3ds is verifying that the rom is correctly signed using an assymetric encryption, so if you modified the game for run w/ the no crypto slot then the sign will automatically be incorrect and you'll not be able to launch it. Basically at least.

Ah ok, would be fun to see some modded Mario games, the ones released by Nintendo were pretty easy to beat, maybe the community can make better ones

Since guys FINALLY figure out how to mod some games using the well known 4.5 exploit it may happen.
