What you need:
-a 3DS/3DSXL/2DS
-a wireless internet connection
-2 copies of Pokemon OR/AS or Pokemon X/Y
-the Pokemon you want to transfer in either game (let's call him/her Haunter for the rest of this guide)
-any pokemon (preferably one that's really common and easy to catch, any will do, really. we'll get into details later. but let's call him/her Pidgey for the rest of this guide)
The trick is Pokemon's GTS/Global Trade Station (explains the need for wireless internet connection)
1-On the Pokemon game where you want to transfer Haunter TO, prepare Pidgey.
2-Connect this game to the GTS
3-Leave Pidgey into the GTS looking for a Haunter (it is important to do this first. just imagine it the other way around. you'd get a pidgey for your Haunter)
4-exit GTS
5-Switch into the game that contains Haunter
6-Connect this game to the GTS
7-Now look for the specific Pidgey you left earlier and initiate the Trade using Haunter
-There you go! if ever you did this just to evolve your Haunter but still want it in the game he came from, just repeat the steps above and you're good to go.

Q: What if the Pokemon i left in step 3 got traded by others?
A: LUCKY YOU! Quick! Check His stats! kidding aside, that's the main reason why you need to leave a Pokemon that's easy to catch. You want to make this trade as unfair as possible
Q: What if i don't have a wireless connection?
A: Sorry, Bud. it is required to have a Wireless internet connection so you can use the GTS. Be Creative! Use Anything! Hack your neighbor's Wifi, Connect to a Mall Hotspot. I usually use my Smartphone as a Hotspot for very quick, really urgent moments.
Q:Can i use this to transfer Pokemon from NDS Pokemon generations?
A: Nope. Sorry, Bud. the Game has to have the ability to use the Pokemon GTS. sorry but you'll have to use Pokemon Bank and Poke Transported for that particular transfer.
