Activating PSvita on 3.60

hello there seems to be a lot of confusion on activating your vita after a complete restore and format of your vita and mem card, im here to clear things up for you

First thing is very miss leading you will need more files then just your act.dat backed up from an activated vita
you need:
vd0_registry/system.dreg
vd0_registry/system.ireg
tm0_npdrm/act.dat

so backup these files from an activated vita and you are covered to do a complete restore of your vita

yes this works for a banned psn account

and no if you dont have a copy of these files then you are outta luck on getting your psn account back up and running on your vita without a ps3 (if your psn account is banned and you dont have a backup of these files from your activated vita you cant activate your vita theres just no way ive spent hours and hours trying to use vita-activator and just my act.dat file alone you need these other two files as well)

Hi TechThomas,

you say "from an activated vita" "to do a complete restore of your vita" , so you could use someone else his vita to activate it ?

I'm asking this because, i have no access to a PS3 console. but your explanation suggests that if a "cracked" vita has my 3 files you state it could "activate" the act.dat file for my vita.

and i could then transfer it back and have an activated psvita ? or are there other checks involved in order for it to activate ?

Just a tought on how this could work.

i dont have access to a second vita at the moment so i cant test it fully but i think it should work but youll have all his email and password to the persons psn id you use so please be very carefull with sharing these files, my psnid that i activate with is banned so if you wanna test them for me on another vita ill post them im just gonna check them for any other personal info :ie credit card cause i had one linked with this account

and just to clear things up abit this is the exact result from a full factory reset and format of my memory card and no psn id entered when setting up

(nothing done no psnid no henkaku no internet no nothing)QCMA wants me to sign into psn but it connects to user508's vita wont let me transfer anything

(ps vita activated on another psnid right from factory reset\full format setup stage) qcma lets me transfer content that belongs to that psnid, i tried copying my other psnid content and nothing it told me cant do that

(full reset and format nothing done during setup) henkaku installed, ftp the files to proper locations in the vita and restart, went straight to setting clicked on psn network and there was my banned psn info i connected to qcma and transfered my purchased psn content stored in qcma and they launch perfectly, only thing i notice is it still connects to qcma as user508 vita (i havent tested any ps plus content to see if they still work without ever being connected to psn)
all 3 files came from this vita activated on my psn account so vita was fully activated, then we lost psn access it was still activated just no psn but in that time my account was banned and i did something stupid the other day restoring my vita and i tried that vita activator thing over and over again with no luck and i was worried cause there was no info on activation (just put act.dat file in npdrm folder) and yeah it just didnt work so more hours spent figuring out that hey you also need some other ones

hey yeah it works just back up those three files from your activated vita and you can do a full restore of your vita and put those files back on the vita and yeah your good to go ive been doing more testing and it doesnt seem like you can use other peoples activation files to activate your own vita, it has something todo with idps so yeah if its activated and you just wanna start fresh then make sure you have these files and they came from that vita your restoring and your golden

Does the PS3 method still work?

Reset to factory and signed in using my PSN.
Flight mode on, Wifi off.
Hooked up to PC. Disconnected leaving the error message on the Vita screen.
Hooked the Vita up to the PS3 and made a successful connection.
Tried to transfer the 2 PSP demos I downloaded from the PSN but content manager sees nothing to transfer.

yeah most psp demos are non transferable to the ps vita theres a few that can so yeah you can use the package installer method to get those stubborn games that work on the vita but sony doesnt want you to play, and yes ps3 method still works try actualy transfer purchased content or some demo that is transferable to vita

the steps was a bit confusing
i buy this from a seller which means 2nd hand
and look for the files that you listed
and poof!! it actually there,
so if i fully restore the vita and mmc
is there a possible that the vita back to old version?
