Downgrade Henkaku 5 To Henkaku 4.

Post by SilicaAndPina » Wed Sep 07, 2016 1:47 am

Hello so basicly for those who dont know henkaku 5 apparently breaks or blocks people with the Debug Utility shell.self mod from accessing PSN so because of this i was looking for a way to downgrade Henkaku 5 to Henkaku 4. another option would be to remove the debug utility but i didnt make a backup of my original shell.self so i cant do that, and i also dont want to.

Now first id like to credit a few people for helping me out here.
1st off is team molecule for creating offlineinstaller, and henkaku. then id like to credit @samiBenDhiab1 for providing me a copy of henkaku 4's henkaku.bin file located in ux0:picture
now thats out of the way:
so basicly what i have done is i have made a modifyed version of OfflineInstaller. that allways installs version 4.
the link to it is right here: https://mega.nz/#!8pVyETwS!CFhoCBzI6ai4 ... JVHqnpW_-o

basicly just download the VPK FTP to your vita and install it (on Henkaku 5) if you allready have offlineinstaller installed it will be overwritten.. now just open "henkaku downgrader" and press X.
reboot your psvita and allways install from the email app instead. keep in mind you can still use the updated moleculear shell app.

Or you know, delete the bubble, use the Android installer, and then just not have to worry about anything.

You're not downgrading anything. You're just using an older binary. Theres no "downgrade" here at all, just using an older version.

That and you'd think that there's a reason for Yifan to say it himself. Just sayin.
I advise you take his word on this, but if you want an all-around easier method, just use the older offline installer or use the android installer.

im aware henkaku 5 doesnt support it thats the whole point of this.. is because once you update to the new henkaku its pretty difficult to acturally go back. :/
Also yifan...

vs0:shell does not exist

as for 'use offlineinstaller' it allways downloads the latest version this is for you to get henkaku 5. install the vpk and then it will install henkaku4 essentally downgrading.

just so where clear the fact he offers src code for the older versions is like wayy to hard for most users. if your new to henkaku u cant easily get henkaku4 lol thats kinda the point of this thing is litterally what your saying here

I wasn't aware of this, reverting to my backup. Henkaku updates are more important to me than broken debug features.

Henkaku Updated, Debug Settings Disabled, Trophy Unlocks still functional. If you want a backup of my shell.self LMK. You can always use the modded shell.self when you want to use debug settings.

You can still use Henkaku, and do whatever you need, but you cant use PSN. That's the only actual drawback here.
Everything works except the spoof.

You're clearly missing the point I'm making, so here's Yifan's reason.

PSN Access and firmware upgrade requests abolished > Than these debug settings. Didn't v4 have the save data bug?

Yes, the save issue (which could happen after PS Vita deep sleep) is one of the main reason why PSN spoof/connection strategy was changed in R5.

Wait, just so we're clear, the basis of this whole argument is that the sole reason why PSN spoof was changed was due to the fact that a few people were getting saved data errors while playing online? That's kind of a stupid reason when we were specifically told not to risk playing backups online in fear of getting banned. No one knows for sure that these corruptions made by the spoofer affected the saved datas of legit digital purchases.

IDK, the main thing I'd like clarification on is if PSN Access is completely denied when debug settings is activated and how the heck was offline installer was automatically updated for you guys. I've only updated Henkaku to R5 after reading Wololo's article that Yifan removed the safety features for the spoofer. I did not update the offline installer because of that. From my knowledge, the only was to update the installer is to remove the exploit and install again. Anyway, Offline spoofs to R4 & Henkaku spoofs to R5. I've tested both revisions just now and both enable PSN access for me. I don't see how you guys are denied access

P.S. Sorry for writing this long.

Saving online? No it effected my Legit copy of FFX, my 100 hour save file disappeared, and showed back up again when I installed v5.

-----

The error is from leaving a game in sleep mode state for too long, has nothing to do with playing online.

Yes, the save issue can affect any game on V4 (the HENkaku spoof code of this version indirectly corrupts the savedata0 mount when the Vita goes in deep sleep mode). So if you use your PS Vita for play, you should definitly move to V5.
The only drawback with the V5 is that if you explicitly goes into "Update firmware" in the settings, the console will update. Otherwise, the update will never been asked (as long as you use the original sheel.self).
