Fix For Anyone Having Issues Creating PKG Installer Bubble

Alright, I myself had issues creating a Package Installer Bubble, and the, "Official" tutorials aren't all that great for helping people out.. I'm not saying my tutorial will help everyone, but it could help some.

Okay, so.
Lets say you've downloaded and installed DB Browser, & have your app.db on your PC. And most likely have all of the correct info for PKG installer, instead of creating a new record like the tutorial on Hackinformer states, what I did was I replaced an app I don't use with PKG Installer. Replace whatever app you'd like, I used Near. First goto the, "tbl_appinfo_icon" table. On the, "iconpath" replace the given info with, vs0:app/NPXS10031/sce_sys/icon0.png , "title" with, ★Package Installer , "type" with, 0 , "titleId" with, NPXS10031 , "icon" with, 5 , "parentalLockLv" with, 0 and, "status" with, 0 .

Click on, "Write Changes" and exit the program.

Rename, "app.db" to, "#0", email it to yourself using Thunderbird, you could try just using a browser and Gmail but that didn't work for me.

Retrieve the the email on the Vita, click on what should be a camera icon, & reboot your Vita.

After looking through your live area, you should see the PKG Installer where the app you replaced was before.

Hope this little, "fix" works for you guys as it worked for me!

I would have added more screenshots showing that the Near icon is gone, but for some reason it wouldn't properly add all of the photos.

Just like a screenshot of the live area on the Ps Vita so we can see the PKG bubble. I plan to do this soon!

I think there may have to be more changes for people on firmwares above 3.18. I got it to show up on my home screen just fine but the second I launch it it automatically closes. May have done something wrong but each time I try and launch the package installer on 3.50 it still auto closes.

That's because Sony patched the PKG Installer, so it can no longer open, it can be launched but it's not fully usable. I believe only 3.20 and below can use it.

Right I know, I assumed as much still but decided to try anyways. Just confirming for everyone else who may want to also attempt on a higher firmware.

Do you think dumping the 3.18 Package Installer eboot.bin/param.sfo and overwriting the 3.50 ones, we can make it work on 3.50?

That looks so cool! I've wanted this since PKG installer came to the email app.

Maybe a stupid question but why does your email app have a star?
