[tut] custom bubbles all in one + icons and names

Post by brownienz » Fri Jan 09, 2015 8:31 am

Hi there everyone I will start off by saying I am aware that all this information is all ready available on here
But Its all separated into different threads. SO I thought I would write my own tut Including everything from
Cloning The game bubble so you don't have to lose your exploit game if your using one
fake signing your files and changing the name and Icon of your bubble based on my own experience
making custom bubbles From start to finish.
I take no credit for the information I just wanted to try help out By putting everything in one place
Also the way I make my bubbles can be done using other programs and methods This is just how I make mine
with that said ill get on to the good stuff.

Things you will need:
: A Psvita capable of running TNV
: A Psn game to use as your Base file for your bubble
: A Copy of VitaFTP
: A Copy of PSPfiler
: A FTP Program on your computer
: A Copy of Fakenp
: A Copy of PBPunpacker
: A Copy of the PSP ISO OR Homebrew Iso you want to turn into a bubble

OK first thing Were going to clone the game we want to use as our base so start up PSPfiler on your vita
Open the PSP folder on your Vita then RENAME the Game folder to GAMEX then open the folder.
Find the game you want to use for your bubble in my case GoSudoku EG (UCES00152). RENAME the folder
to UCES001X1 then rename the GAMEX folder back to GAME (DON'T forget to rename this folder double check you
have) then exit PSPfiler. Now you need to backup the game you just renamed using CMA so start that on
your vita and select copy content then choose psvita system to PC Then applications then PSP/Other
select the Game you just renamed and choose copy when its finished go back and choose
copy content PC to PsVita System copy both Of your games back to your Psvita. When its done go back to
the live screen You will now have 2 bubbles of your game :) You can do this as many times as you like
just follow the steps again but change the number at the end of the folder name each time.

Now time to get your base file so you can start fake signing your Iso's This only needs to be done once
as long as you only plan on using the one game for your bubbles. To get your base file start VitaFTP
And your FTP program of choice on your PC then connect to the vita once your connected open the
PSP Folder then the GAME folder and Find the game you just made in my case UCES001X1 Copy this folder
to your PC (you can choose to just copy the EBOOT.PBP File as that's all you need I just copy the whole
thing ) It may take a while but when its finished you have your file time to fake sign it leave your
ftp program and vitaFTP Running as you will need them again soon.

Copy the Eboot.PBP file you just grabbed and place it in the Fakenp folder Rename it PSN.PBP
Then get the ISO you want to make into your bubble (Remember it must be no bigger than the game you have used
as your base file) Name this file GAME.ISO and place it in the Fakenp folder as well Then Hold shift
and right click the fakenp folder select open command prompt then type in
fake_np -b PSN.PBP GAME.ISO then press enter this will build your fake signed game when its finished
open up your ftp program on you pc make sure its still connected to your vita Open the PSP folder
Then Rename the GAME folder To GAMEX open the GAMEX folder and rename the clone of the game you made
in my case UCES001X1 Name it UCES001X1& Then make a new folder named what ever your clone was called
in my case UCES001X1 Now copy the Fake signed eboot you made to the new UCES001X1 folder you just made.
When its finished you will notice its name has changed So to fix this right click it and choose rename and
name it EBOOT.PBP. (dont forget the fullstop) this will name the file back to EBOOT.PBP leave
Vitaftp and your ftp program open were almost done now to change the Name and Icon

To change the name and icon open the fake signed Eboot file you made with PBPunpacker choose extract and
and extract the files to a folder of your choice when its done close PBPunpacker open the folder you just
extracted the files to and open the PARAM.SFO with PBPunpacker you will now see that you are in the
SFO editor double Click the title at the bottom a new window will open in here type the name of your game
you will see the number next to data change as you name the Title when you have named it take that number
and subtract it from 127 what ever you end up with put that number in the padding box then press enter
NOW choose file and save to PBP. A new window will pop up again in this window select icon0.png then select
the Icon0.png file from the folder where you just extracted the files do this for the ICON.PMF,PIC1.PNG, and the DATA.PSP Files aswell then click save Name the file Pboot.pbp
now Back to your ftp program make sure you still connected to the vita and open the UCES001X1& Folder copy
the PBOOT.PBP file to this folder when its done you will need to rename it PBOOT.PBP.
(Dont forget the full stop) when you have done that go back to the GAMEX folder and rename it back too
GAME (DONT forget to rename this folder) now you can exit vitaftp shut your Vita off then power back on
holding the power button the Ps button and the right trigger Select rebuild database wait for it to finish
your Vita will boot and you should now have a working Custom bubble with Icon and name :)

Thats it I hope this helps someone My apologies if it drags out a bit only my second time writing a
tut .. And like i said this can be done other ways this is Just how I do mine :D Thanks for your time

But the exploit game is always needed on psvita? Because if yes, i dont see what are the pros of custom bubble if you cannot save the space...

nop, you can do that with any game but that game will ever be on your vita, but in first place you need the exploit to do that

if I understand well:
for each bubble clone I do
I have to keep a copy of the original game
then
if i use locoroco2 game as base
is not very functional
because he has 1.5gb
then
5 clones = 7.5 GB

is that right?

I thought about using the locoroco2 to iso games

thanks

You can delete the original game file but you need to make a backup of the license file before you delete it then restore the file after or your bubble wont boot You Have to keep the clone bubbles files tho or your bubble wont boot Ether. I have tryed to delete the original bubble and my clone bubble folder with the & at the end and it keeps my custom bubble but it wont boot even with restoring the license file so ill keep playing around with it and see what i can figure out. Pros of a custom bubble is just ease of access i guess so insted of booting to ecfw you can just load your game or homebrews

As far as i know fakenp is the only program that can be used for this at the moment untill and if someone makes something else windows vista should work try running as administrator on in compatibility mode see if that helps .
what error are you getting ?

As far as i know yes you need to keep the clone game folder but you can remove the original game you just need to backup the license file first and restore it back to the license folder after or your bubble wont boot. I am playing around with trying to delete the files but so far I have managed to delete the clone files and the original game and keep my custom bubble but my bubble wont boot ill keep messing around with it and see what I can come up with

Great post, thank you.

One thing I am not clear on. If I create the bubble and use TNV iso posted on another post, can I then upgrade my Vita to whatever the latest firmware is each time? Presumably as the exploit is launching from that bubble an exploit game is no longer required.
